Is that the aim of this club, to be better than the bottom two in the League?

It most definitely is this season that's for sure.

Why do some of our fans act like COVID has only affected us and absolutely nobody else?

Seems as though a lot of league 1/2 teams are being knocked out by non-league sides in the FA cup.

BT Sport 1

Oxford City are giving Northampton a good game tonight....latest 1-1

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Hasn’t our objective to be slightly better than about 5 teams every season since we came up?

For at least three seasons now, when we’ve gone through a rough patch or had some poor results the excuse of ‘it’s ok, there’s at least 3 teams worse than us’ is trotted out.

How ambitious of us.

As Lew says, are we the only club affected by Covid?

It boils my urine. We use other league teams losing to non league teams as a justification for our own failings, yet the board say how skint we are and take a six figure sum from the fans in donations, share purchases and saved ST refunds. Looking forward to seeing the reduction in director loans when the accounts go public 🤨

FT....Oxford City 2-1 Northampton.

Yet another league club knocked out by non-league opposition.

I don’t think anyone is saying losing is alright. Just saying that getting beaten by non-league clubs is not all that unusual. A bit of perspective. We’ve lost 5, drawn 3 and won 3 this season. Not great. A lot of silly mistakes which could easily be cut out. We need a goal scorer or two added to the squad. But it’s hardly 2009-10.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Yeah, we are not that far away from being a half decent side. Wins at Cheltenham and Orient show what we're capable of when we get it right. Three games have been 1-0, losing two of those and winning one against Barrow. Could have got a point in the Walsall game, as Barrow could have got a point against us, with late shots hitting the post in both games. It's not like we have been taken apart by anyone (Salford was an aberration), with mostly self inflicted goals costing us.

I always think the first ten to twelve games of the season are not really worth getting too excited or depressed about, especially in this strange season. I've seen nothing yet that indicates we will be up there challenging, or down the bottom end struggling. At the moment, we are par for mid table again. The next ten to twelve games will give us more of a clue.

We are getting 1.2 points per game at the moment so 55.2 points for the season. Lower mid table.
