The truth is Macca costs too many points over the season. He is the Club captain but I don’t see this benefit on match day, apart from running to the referee when one our players is disciplined.
He’s been loyal to Town but we could do with a keeper on loan from a higher league to put some pressure on him.
Haven't we had that scenario before & a rapid transfer request submitted? Should tell you all you need to know.

You've said what most think....loved having Macca and he's been brilliant but I do think he's got too comfortable and maybe a little complacent with no one pushing to take his shirt off his back....he has zero competition for his place and the one time he did he threw his toys right out his pram...not seen Battersby play tbh, wonder if Holloway will contemplate giving him a chance in the next 2 games in the Tim pot cup ..
I don't think it's anything to do with complacency. He still makes the good saves that we love him for. The problem is that he's being asked to do something he's not very good at. Distribution has always been one of his two main weaknesses, and now we're asking him to play the ball in a way that if he makes a mistake, it costs a goal. It's not his fault that he's being told to do something he isn't good at.

Do you think he was told to pass it out to feet on absolutely every single opportunity without fail, or do you think it was expected that the club captain might be able to decide when it was appropriate or not? The other goals he’s directly cost us this year - Harrogate he chased a dead ball down and slid to keep it in play for some reason, & Carlisle he decided not to take a touch which is nothing to do with tactics, it’s an aberration.

So if he's no good at it, it begs the question of why play that way, if he's certain to play? You've got to play to your strengths. Fine, get another keeper long term, if you think playing that way is the way to go, but in the meantime play the way that suits what you have.

Looking at the match stats Trump would have called victory for Town with 15 minutes to go.
A bit like we experienced occasionally in the Hurst promotion season we struggled to break down a very limited National League team that just worked hard, got men behind the ball in their own final third and had a keeper who had a good day (when ours didn't). Playing out from the back is costing us a goal every two games at the moment and the problem is we don't have an Amond or a Bogle up top to make it not matter so much. But I agree with Ollie, we did play pretty well - like their commentators said we passed it at pace and switched the play well. Matt Green grafts ok but he's neither a poacher nor a target man bringing others into play. I'd like to see Windsor given a run of games in a more central role.
