When the open air pool at Hampton re-opened after lockdown ended, I started going there on my bike. Having lost a lot of weight I no longer felt I was embarrassing the Mariners by wearing the Town cycling jersey the kids bought me a few years back.

So one day in the good weather I turned up in Town cycling top and there was a bloke in the queue with a smirk on his face. ‘Probably a Chelsea or other plastic fan’ I thought.

If the caff afterwards he turns up with his missus and he revealed that he was an Imp.

I’ve not seen him since the weather turned bad. I have to conclude he’s a typical Imp.  A fair weather fan.

I know that pool well, I used to live in East Molesey. I've also found that many items of Town merchandise seem to have shrunk in the wash over the years.

Taking the pee out of Lincoln's support when you been getting as low as 2500 last season 😳😳

When was the last time you fishy people got over 6000??

I've never known you lot get gates regularly over 6000, even when you were batting above your average in second tier with big followings

Look at yr Gates pre 2017  they make straight forward reading always less average gates than Town since 1945 may be 3 seasons post war bigger than ours.

You may have a bigger glory hunting bandwagon at the moment but we are fans for life not the glory year or two UTM.
