Touched upon in another thread, this was reported on the Bristol Live website a couple of days ago.

"And how about this for a touch of class, even if it was from a Gashead? Marcus Day was released from Bristol City this summer and he is now set to join Grimsby Town. He travelled up to Grimsby by train recently where none other than the manager Ian Holloway was there to meet him at the station, with a move to Blundell Park agreed. A nice deed from Ollie that you don't always get from other managers."

Not many Managers would do that, would they? Most would send a lacky to do the dirty work.
