I know you never now what to believe these days with agents and players playing games to get better contracts but allegedly Messi has communicated to Barcelona that he wants to leave the club and will activate a clause to end unilaterally his contract.

Who knows he could end up reuniting with his former manager Pep Guardiola at Man City !!!

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Prediction: He’ll move to City, we’ll draw them at home in the Carabao third round and we’ll all miss one the world’s best ever playing at BP because we’re not allowed in.

Or

He’ll stay at Barca when they meet his demands.

His agent have said they are looking at clubs who act with honour , work within financial rules and for instance would include Covid clauses in any contract to not put the club at risk in uncertain times........so you never know

If the former happened, I tell you now there’d be at least 9,000 storming the gates. No way we’d miss that.

Whilst Aguero is a major exception to the rule, in general players from his neck of the woods don’t fancy living in dreary Manchester, and I don’t blame them. I reckon Italy, personally.

Can you imagine if Juve signed him!!! If they get rid of Aaron Ramsey there’s 400K per week towards him straight away!!

If he leaves, Italy would be the logical choice but only Juve have the cash...I’d imagine there’s mafiosa scrambling around as we speak and Ramsay being pumped out to anyone that will listen to free up the cash.

The only issue would be how well two egos survive in the same side. But to see them together would be excellent.

However, with the protests starting and likely to intensify I expect Barca to double his wages and literally tell him he can do what he wants (he does a lot of that now).

It is interesting though as Messi has been very critical of the club regarding Suarez and Puyol has made interest comments about the club and Messi and so forth so may be he will leave. If he ended up at say PSG it would be funny watching Neymar’s toys come out the pram.

There’s probably only 2/3 teams in Europe with the cash but I guess it depends how desperately someone would want him.

There were rumours Ronaldo was going back to Madrid because Juventus are struggling financially. I think most football fans want to see them 2 together though...

It depends on why a club would want to pay out the ridiculous money it would need to get him to move. Yes, they would recoup some of it in ads and fans but would Messi improve a team at his age and with his attitude? He now stands around waiting for the ball like Zidane did at the end of his playing days, just relying on his reputation. He still has the skills but personally I doubt if he is worth the money it would take.

Do we think it's Messi's Leon or his agent?

Juve paid big wages to decent players but not the sort of players will win you big games...

I also suspect that the Italian government tightening the grip on the mafia will impact Juve.

I still expect Messi to stay at Barca and you’ll probably see movement elsewhere in the club rather than him going...

I d not think that for the wages, Messi would have a significant impact on a new team. Why not negotiate one last big contract at Barca!

Messi and Ronaldo have a combined age that would qualify them for a State pension and a bus pass.  Their brilliant skills are sadly declining.  All good things decline to an end.

I imagine the match would be abandoned if that happened. At least there are no fences at BP for fans to be crushed against.

Don't think it's a complete U-turn as think he'll be off next summer as a free agent

I think the likelyhood is as well Tommy he may go though nothings certain in football. What possibly could happen is Messi could change his mind as well and even stay next season .Hence 99,000 fans in the Nou Camp all chanting his name all season could sway him to stay.

I dont buy though in some football circles Messi is the greatest player ever. For me the best all rounder has to be Pele and for pure skill Ronaldinho .

The 9/4 that he would start for Barcelona in the upcoming season was like printing money.

Some club to play for though. Hence 99,000 fans and playing in the largest stadium in Europe and on  26 million annually .Dream come true for any football loving fan.
