Bolton have now signed FIFTEEN new players of which several of them will be on a lot more than minimum wage, rest assured.
Now, sorry to go over this again, but because Bolton were relegated last season, are they allowed a salary cap of 2.5 million in League 2 until the last running contract expires on League 1 wages?
Or are they only allowed a 1.5 million salary cap PLUS any contracts that are still running from League 1?

Bolton have recruited lots of good players. Hope the EFL are crawling over their accounts as they show all the signs of further financial mismanagement. For a club with such a fantastic history it’s terrible to see their downfall, but they should not be allowed to get away with further financial abuse.
If they get away with the financial issues, they must be favourites Barrow and Harrogate look like they will struggle Let’s hope Stevenage struggle too. How anyone with such an abysmal showing can avoid relegation is beyond me.
Onwards and upwards.

Not only have Bolton signed loads of players and are trialling more e.g. today against Wigan, but they managed to go on a training camp at Loughborough Univ. The Covid infection rate in much of Lancs. is 3 or 4 times higher than N.E. Lincs. Are players tested before preseason games? They will play their SIXTH preseason game against Blackburn soon and are selling season tickets as if fans are going to be at each game. The report on today's friendly is up on the club site. New manager, Evart, urging fans to join 'the revolution'.
Compared to our lack of impetus, news and lowered expectations, Bolton are gung ho!
I wonder what deal Jamie Mascoll, (Ex Wycombe pacy left sider) is on. No wonder Ollie is so frustrated by the salary cap.
Bolton are the Hare. We are shaping to be the Tortoise in this race.

Oh dear. looking at what a lot of other clubs have got signed and from a lot higher up the leagues i fear for this season. Unless we have some crackers lined up we are not going to be even also rans. Two weeks untill the season starts and we dont have any way near a squad of main players. We are getting some fine words and statements coming out of the managers office but thats it up to now.. and as we know how far fine words get us. And it does not matter how much experiance you have in a job, without the right tools you stand no chance

I looked for any sort of news on Glennon and Benson yesterday, and got an article from some Burnley paper that said they’d BOTH be going out on loan again this season. Seeing as Ollie made the call to Dyche ages ago now, I can only assume he wants them higher than League 2. Looking at our squad, I really hope I’ve got that wrong, we need them.

Yes, and my good lady reminds me that the hare wins the race. Colchester entered another tortoise in the race today. Philip Day could have written this Chairman's Statement. https://www.cu-fc.com/news/2020/august/chairmans-statement/
I fail to see why you are so disparaging about a chairman setting out the facts and explaining why it can't be business as usual. You might also note how little their fans have raised and how much they have paid out in refunds (compare and contrast with our magnificent total of over £200,000). So he is quite right to be worried and cautious. In 12 months time it will be the likes of us and Colchester who come out of this in a better position than those who are gambling and ' flashing the cash'

Edit:- The tortoise wins of course. My typing error. No disparagement, just an observation that the Colchester Chairman is setting out the financial realities to their fans and that survival is a priority. He points out that the club were already top heavy as a squad. His litany of ways that the EFL and tax authorities have supported clubs could indeed have been written by Philip Day. His kicking cans analogy is apt. Pointing to that is not disparaging. I did indeed note the disparity in fans financial support compared to our efforts. I would not post a link to a Statement I had not read.

Sorry, cant use hymn sheet anymore, this asssumes that if your not a Christian then you are not included, it has to be songbook or song sheet now, in case you offend someone (but what if your tone death and cant sing then could they find it offensive) (but then again its only written in English so am I discriminating against people whos first language is not English) , where does it end aaaarrrgghhhh

It ends when the politically correct brigade and the so-called 'snowflakes' realise that their actions are causing more problems in the world than they are solving.
If they think they can change history, they have another thing coming. As an example, do they honestly think that changing a sign for Guy Gibson's black labrador, is going to stop people calling him N*****? He has always had that name. Times were different back then. Odd how it was never questioned back then!
Soon they will be trying to claim that WW1 and WW2 should be written out of history, because of the use of non-white labour forces not being seen as equals on the battlefield.
Its odd how in football, non-white players have always been remembered fondly in history, going all the way back to Walter Tull, even though there was the very nasty racism from so-called supporterswhich come to a head in the 70s and 80s.
Are they going to try to change football and its history? Probably, but they will fail miserably.

As maybe but Ollie has said he thinks it won't work. Can't find the clip but I'm sure he said 'let the rich clubs spend but as soon as they miss paying a milk bill fine them three points.' Like the Colchester chairman says, you can only kick the cans down the road for so long.

For a bit of parity has anyone got the list of players released by clubs and how many pros were on the books?
Signing 15 players may have been necessary for some.

Stop panicking, there still hundreds of players without a contract. This may play to our skint needs as some will sign for us that maybe a year ago wouldnt look twice at us. Some of these players know they will get clubs but are looking for best option but this time that big pay check just may not be there for them. I fully expect 5 more good signings by the end of next week.
This is the lull before the storm!!
