Looking at who's been at Town either permanently or on loan in recent memory there's the potential to see a lot of ex Town players playing their trade in the top flight of English football. So far I can think of
Ryan Bennett: Recently signed for Leicester
Dean Henderson: I know only a short term loan but has since played last season for Sheff Utd.
Siriki Dembele: Linked with West Brom and Sheff Utd.
Pollock: Apparent interest from several prem teams.
Benson/Glennon: Did they get named on the bench at all after going back to Burnley?
Nice mix of our own lads and loanees going onto bigger and better things. Think we could see more happening going forward?

Conor Townsend, West Brom
The best outfield player to play for the club since we dropped out of the second tier. If that sounds mad, name me a better one. His contribution to our promotion season is often underestimated as he wasn’t here for its culmination, but I am absolutely adamant that we wouldn’t have been promoted without him. Seriously, you only have to look at the stats; without the uptick in form during his spell that season we wouldn’t have made the playoffs. The rest is history.

My judgement may be blurred by recent history but I thought Glennon was a better defender. Townsend was better going forward though in my opinion.

Agreed. The only time we strung a decent run of good results together was during his loan.

At a stretch, you could add Raheem Sterling. He played at BP for England under 16s (?). I hope that this experience did not contribute to him missing that open goal last week.

Simon Francis, just released by Bournemouth I think , but had a few seasons in there, thought he was average when we had him, albeit a few years earlier

I remember getting Richard Hughes on loan for a couple of months in the season we got relegated from the second tier (2002/3).
He then spent the next few seasons playing regular Premier League football for Portsmouth. Think he even scored a winner v Liverpool at the height of Pompey's Prem days.
He looked ok on loan for us, but I never saw a Premier League player in there!

If I remember right he scored in the game versus Brighton and gave their support the big un, which ended up in an FA fine.

Sorry....but I can only assume that u must be too young to remember the games we played with Hudson and Leary as our central midfielders. A feast of football that season alright...... Or maybe you’ve tried to erase it from your memory.......blimey I’ve certainly tried but without success

Hughes scored, but it was Michael Keane who gave the Brighton fans the downwards point.

Indeed it was. Bit of a bell end thing to do considering we were already down ourselves...

Seems like you have forgot about the other maestro of that era....Anthony Church.
