WayneBurnettsJockstrap for his 'hilarious' post regarding Matt Green. What a cheap shot that was! Matt is one of our own players who at his own admittance had a poor season. Big deal, let's make him the scapegoat for this season too, before it even starts. We'll see how long it takes before WBJ is back on here spouting all sorts of drivel about it being a joke and people needing a sense of humour bypass. Why is it that people taking cheap shots at others always justify it by saying it's a joke. How would they feel if the joke was being aimed at them, would they find it funny then? Being insulting, mean and disrespectful to someone who is essentially a good guy, and works hard for the cause, is unnecessary and doesn't help the player's confidence, one little bit. Ok, Matt hasn't quite managed to hit top form yet during his time at our club, but we know he's been a good player over the years and with the team building that's going on and Ollie's guidance, let's hope we see the best of him this season. Baiting certain players is obviously a good sport to some, but let's all pull together and hopefully we can make the play-offs at least. I for one would love to see Matt Green have a great season, setting up chances for others and finding the back of the net with style like we know he can.

Green had a very poor season but once again we signed a player 5 years too late due in the main to being unable to match players expectations when they were sought after.

Green could not get in the Salford side before we signed him whereas earlier in his career he would have been a great signing.

If you cannot or refuse to sign league 2 standard players when they are sought after, the obvious thing to do is have a club policy of signing players with potential from lower leagues.

Back to Twit of the week - VAR for the absurdity of it all meaning we still have mistakes but a video referee is making them rather than the on field ref.

Can't have Barca they gave me the most entertaining 90 mins I've had in ages, not only showing what a bunch of overpaid t0zzers they are but especially with 20 mins of commentaters sticking their tongues up Messi's ring followed half an hour later with hes such a lazy bar steward/not interested/doesn't care etc. etc.
