Odds are starting to come out for next season.

We are the 3rd last favourites.

May the annual ‘they’ve got it wrong’ debate begin.

Big budget teams at the top of course. Hang on, what was that about a salary cap?

Surprised Harrogate are mid table in the betting, thought they would be one of the favourites to struggle after jumping up a level.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Tucked in behind Stevenage and Crawley, how depressing.
The bookies haven't been wrong for the last few years, are they this year?

Makes me laugh every season. Seasonal underachievers Mansfield always put near the top. Stevenage are all of a sudden better than us, same as Scunthorpe!

In football terms, Stevenage should not even be in the betting let alone just above us.

Those odds for all teams are absolutely miserly - they are most likely just putting out feelers-so I would hang on a bit before having a bet.

I’d love to have seen last years odds versus where teams finished up.

Means nothing at this stage.

Small market - any bet of anything over about £20 will likely fluctuate the odds. We know this from some of our manager markets down the years (Nigel Adkins 1/4f within hours of the market going live?)

Quite a few surprises in the differences between teams there tbh. For the record, if there was a ‘power rankings’ at this point, I’d have us about mid table. I think some teams such as Salford and Harrogate are too high and others such as Southend and Walsall are too low. But as has been said, it’s hard to measure at this point of the season. Tbh, 25-1 for the team which is seen as the worst team in the league by far (with odds that are than double the team in 23rd) shows how all the clubs in League 2 are always just a couple of signings and a good mix of cohesion away from challenging.

Placed an E/W bet on Town in June last year at 25/1 - just got my stake back.

NB - Are Bolton still sitting on a suspended points deduction following last years financial debacle?

Course we are less likely to go up than Sunny or Stevenage. Odds are twaddle just yet.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure this is 'what the bookies think'.

The market is dictated by how people are betting; all the bookies do is adjust the prices to reflect it.

If Bolton are favourites then it's likely that's where the money is currently going. If everyone started backing Town for promotion, it wouldn't take long (or that much) for us to climb that list.

But then there would be an investigation into 'odd betting patterns' if we suddenly surged to the top!

The bookies are using a new algorithm - they got it cheap, it was previously used to predict A Level grades apparently...

Perhaps the bookies have a long established Fenty Factor in their odds setting.

A couple more signings of the right calibre at full back and midfield and we must be worth an E/W punt.

We were favourites to get relegated last season. Comfortable mid table hardly proves them right at all.

Just been having a look on Oddschecker and Paddy Power are offering odds of 200-1 for Grimsby to win anything from 5-0 to 11-0, including Walsall knocking a few in reply.

Is it worth a punt on Williams (2), Jackson Jnr (2) and Hanson (1)?
