What gets me is the future of our club is probably in jeopardy over the £1 million loss in revenue we will incure due to Coronavirus and yet Man Utd are allegedly close to signing Jadon Sancho for a fee of £108 million with Sancho allegedly earning £65 million over the next five years, stinks.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Not even in the top three when it comes to the premier league.

1. David De Gea (Man Utd) - £375,000
2. Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) - £320,833
3. Raheem Sterling (Man City) - £300,000
4. Paul Pogba (Man Utd) - £290,000
5. Mesut Ozil (Arsenal) - £268,750

Meanwhile at Arsenal:

Around £4 million for Saturdays Fa Cup victory.

I hope the omission was down to GT reporting. It amazes me that some clubs are signing so many players now given the uncertainty regards future income.

I know he's on loan at Inter and not actually playing but isn't Sanchez on £500,000 ?

Those are the clubs that like gambling with the future of their club, and will just go into administration, and probably not for the first time.
I would rather get through this period, if that means reducing the budget, so be.
Spending big does not guarnatee promotion.
I am sure that we will be competitive next season, whether we can challenge towards to the top, we will have to wait and see.
I have noticed that in some quaters, people moaning that Mr Holloway missed out to a potential signing to Hamilton.
The chance to play against Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen or Forest Green, Salford, Macclesfield, which club would you pick?
Also Hamilton have paid a undisclosed fee for the striker.
I take the positive from this, that we were in for a young up and coming striker and was prepared to pay a fee for a player.

Looking forward to getting back to BP to watch the Mighty Mariners soon.

Government should put an extra 10% VAT/TAX on transfers over 1,000,000 and distribute it to the lower leagues.

Whilst I despise the gap in professional football, if ever a player deserved to be a top earner, it’s De Bruyne. An amazing player, with sterling not far behind too. However, those other 3 are charlatans.

Unfortunately we’re going to have to follow suit soon because the season starts in a few weeks time and so far we don’t have a team to put out.

Think you only have to read those comments to see why they are holding off for as long as possible before making any signings. My guesstimate is that every week they can get by without having a full squad is saving them about £10,000 per week

Many have questioned the clubs ambition for sometime, I think yesterday was another statement to suppress and potential expectations.

Naturally the club will be hit hard, as will most clubs. Yes, some clubs are signing players and that’s their choice. They’ve obviously decided that they feel they need to make signings and gamble, potentially capitalising on the fact the standard of the league and some teams won’t be as competitive as normal.

On the one hand I feel that we could struggle and certainly hover closer to the bottom than the top but equally, as stated, I’m not sure the league will be as competitive as usual so may be just a couple of decent signings could see us finish at least mid table.

I think we could see a selection of loan players coming in, although that will still depend on percentage of wages that needs paying. I personally don’t think it’ll make a difference who the manager is, players will certainly make decisions based purely on cash at the moment, more so than ever before I think.

It was disappointing not to see some acknowledgement of the crowd funder. Just because I chose not to donate doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be commended.

Make every club "supporter" owned with a limit on share ownership,no foreigners -players,owners,managers. Let them work in their own countries. supposed to be the English league - hardly any English in it. cap on everything with profits going back to supporters P.S.   and Bovril only costing 50p

Don’t think we’ll have to worry about relegation this season as there will probably be a few teams go belly up so why bother lashing out on players this season and risk financial ruin   ?

Might not get relegated but it will also make it a cracking time to push for promotion. I think the more savy clubs have realised this so are pushing ahead with signings.
But on the original point of lost revenue the board are architects of this to some extent. Fans have been complaining for years about the poor facilities at BP. I see it will now have a big effect on reducing potential  crowd numbers.

Be interesting to see if Mr Fenty still claws back more of his loan in these challenging times.

Or alternatively clubs will think its a great season to gamble , overspend to try and get promoted , then either go into admin if success isnt acheived and pay a fraction of bills or just play the system for a few years like Macclesfield have done with a long round of wind up orders, last minute deals, wind up orders, appeals, last minute deals etc etc.

He had two years left on his United contract. They tore it up, paid him out £55 million and Inter got him on a free.

This sis the club that have spent almost a billion pound and are still miles away...and yet pundits think they need to invest. flipping lunacy.

I see super Pep has doubled over £300m on defenders in his time at city and it’s still not water tight.

But the more galling thing is how excited morons get when sky have their little counter clock on the TV and the number just keeps rising; or the other year when the so called experts spaffed their old because a billion quid had been spent in the transfer window...there’s your issue. Spending is celebrated. Sod worrying about a salary cap at our level and worry about how the sport is promoted and represented...
