Best town player you remember from each decade?

I'm only 27, so remember some of the 90's but mainly 00's and 10's, so gone with:

70's -

80's -

90's - McDermott - I remember the double winning team well, but for some McDermott stick in my mind constantly, a small full back, who was incredible, and stayed with us for 20? years!

00's - Coyne - This is when it slowly started to go a bit sour, but Danny Coyne was one hell of a keeper I seem to remember

10's Disley - Legend. Okay, these were some of the darkest days, but during these times, we have some very good players for the standard we played at. It was hard between a lot of good players (Mckeown, Connell, Hearn, Pearson, Arnold, Bogle, Amond) But Disley takes it for me

These have been quickly thought about, so probably a few that have slipped my mind that could easily of made it

Are these "best" players or "favourite" players? There is a difference.

I can see why these might have been your favourite players from each decade but I'm not sure they could be considered the best.

That's a good point, I've gone with my favourite, rather than best player with ability

I'm 30 so can only go with 90's onwards too:

90's: Groves
00's: Coyne
10's: McKeown/Bogle

Can't decide for the 10's. McKeown has kept us in a lot of games and is the only player left that has been through most of a bad decade.

No offence intended. Just with the likes of K Moore, Drinks, Ford, etc. it wasn't the first name that sprang to mind.

I only really got into supporting football at the start of the millenium (played on the play ground but never went to games) so I can't comment too much but from what I've seen on youtube clips and other places I can fill a couple gaps

70's -

80's - Futch just off those little bits of clips I've seen and Dads constant reminiscing

90's - Burnett from what I've seen the way he passed the ball and moved with it at his feet was great

00's - Head says Coyne, heart wants to say McDermott

10's - Disley

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

I think what he is saying, that first goal he experienced, is what got him hooked, so to him very important. its just happened that Don O'Riordan scored.
