Does anyone remember

The capital letters at the front of the main stand and why they were there

Before kick-off the marching band on the pitch , early 80's

When the players came out before kick off they kicked football's into the crowd for the kids .

The capital letters. Weren’t they for identifying the half time scores of the other matches? We didn’t have smart phones then.

the capital letter boards were for the halftime scores. You needed to buy a programme see which letter corresponded to which match and a kid would walk round and slide the numbers showing the score into slats just below each letter. Real state of the art,

It was digital technology

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Don't know why but the dodgy wooden staircase at the back of the Barrett's always sticks in my mind, I need to get out more

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

The halftime scores were put up both sides of the ground.

I found it amusing when on some occasions the kid on one
side of the pitch putting up the scores would find he was
short of a particular number, say for example a nought, and
would sprint round the pitch to  see if his mate had a spare.

Yes, didn't we get Mighty in his current guise to celebrate promotion in 98?

The marching Mariners band.   They didn't have get some stick.  There's no need for half-time entertainment these days.  Everybody buries their head into their phones.  I 'd forgotten about the letters.  Yeah for half time scores but was there really a need as they had a tannoy - or was the band too loud to hear?
