I remember him as a far better player than he was given credit for, one of those that the manager always had on the team sheet and could rely on to do a good job. But more than that I remember how he and Terry Yorath were so dignified and did such a great job during and after the Bradford Fire. He deserves great respect.

Think that was Alan Mullery v Yugoslavia in Euro knock out game in 1968 which was before they introduced end of season Euro tournaments. That’s from my memory so could be wrong

I think you are right it was Mullery.

You are right. He was fined 50 quid and Alf Ramsey paid his fine.

Alan Ball was the second and Trevor Cherry the third but the first in a friendly. It was against Argentina so very forgivable in my book.
