Saturday 16th August 1975
Grimsby Town V Cardiff City
The result was 2-0

I have had a request to provide goalscorer information. Lewis and Hubbard scored for Grimsby, but I have also been requested the times of the goals. Does anyone know? Anyone got a match report to hand?

Hi Rob..

I think Jack Lewis scored in the first minute. I have the scores and times on my copy of the programme but Lewis's is slightly smudged.
Phil Hubbard scored in the 60th minute of the game.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

I was there and I can confirm Jack scored early but  I don't know the minute.

Jack Lewis was calling bingo in the amusement arcade on Beacholme holiday camp a few hours later.
That's how much football has changed.

By that I mean the gentleman was calling the numbers.

I remember there was a good 100+ Cardiff fans in the Pontoon before the start of the match that day. Mind you it was about 2:15 and there were hardly any town fans in by then. Think they’d try to go in the Imp but hadn’t faired well so thought they take our end.
