Surprised that I am first to comment.

This thread should really be called “Just not back”.

I thought that there were a lot of positives today.  We found much more space on the wings, but were unable to take advantage.  Nobody had a bad game.    There were no wild shots over the bar.  We also avoided picking up any injuries and yellow. Not one kick from Macca went out of play.

Carlisle did not cause us any problems.  I was very disappointed with the away support.  Given the relatively short distance and their position in the league, is was frankly appalling.  We have had some poor away attendances recently but having NO away fans is a first!  Being charitable, 1 or 2 fans might have spent all their time in the bar.

The pitch looked in better condition.  It should improve further over the next few months.

Other changes were also positive and welcomed.  There were no HT queues for the toilets or the Trust bar.
And no idiots leaving 5 mins before HT and FT and blocking your view.

The gobby old git in the UF was absent today so no unfair criticism of Town players.  John Fenty escaped any abuse as well.

Parking and traffic queues were respectively much improved and non-existent.

There was a lack of HT scores and on-field entertainment.  Shame really not knowing if Hull were getting thrashed again.

My only really complaint was that I won the HT draw on the pitch for only the second time.  I won less than my stake money.

Overall, there are surprising benefits to this new approach to matches. I came away happy ( and avoided all the dog dirt as you could clearly see it  - for a change).

(Hope these comments provide a novel look at the match and some light relief from the C word).

I thought it was good of the club to sell everything at half price not knowing when the next game will be to get rid of stock.

Good game and well done the lads, can't remember the last time we won 7-0 and Vernam scoring them all.

He's on fire at the moment.

Yeah sorry about the 7-0 thing and Vernam scoring them all, I got absolutely blitzed with the beer being at half price and lost track of things

I was content with being able to take a flask in.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Personally I was disappointed that the whole of the ground was really quiet
