So Philip Day states we are financially sound to deal with the fixture postponents.
What im not so sure about in football in general is teams like Macclesfield, Southend, Bolton and others. They have no money anyways so to have no income at all for 3 weeks to cover wages and bills, it surely looking bleak and worrying times for their clubs and supporters

They won't exactly be high on the governments priority list. Down to each set of fans to look after their clubs, if it comes to it IMHO.

I agree.  The further down the football pyramid you go the more dependency there is on match day income with there being less sponsorship and TV money etc.

I cannot see this being a three week temp measure at all. According to reports the pandemic is nowhere near reaching its peak yet so any loss of revenue looks to be prolonged. I doubt this season will finish now, which we will all be gutted about

The clubs that are already up to their eyeballs in debt will  have some serious decisions to make regarding future budgets and sustainability.

Like all, I hope things resolve themself swiftly as it will be dull with no football.

Ironic really everyone on here at some point will have moaned about JF’s reluctance to spend money well maybe after all that time he’s been proved right to a degree.

Gosh.....now you mention it I can now remember JF saying at several of the fan forums that the budget was set to be competitive,  based on anticipated gates, football fortune and allowing for postponement of the League due to a global pandemic...

It may be a the ideal time for some of the filthy rich Premier League clubs to make a gesture by each donating a million quid to an EFL fund for distribution to some of the struggling league clubs.
Got a feeling it wont happen though.

Have we ever had "money to spend"?

I may be wrong as I don't look at the accounts but my understanding is that any profits we make are going to pay off JF's loans.

And if JF and the board ever said we will not spend any extra cash in case of a pandemic then I will love them to look after my pension fund.

I was thinking something along those lines but like you I can not see it happening.

Then again some of these players on £100,000 - £200,000 a week could give a bit as well.

That wont happen either.

Although I agree with you ,I think you have opened a" whole can of worms" with that statement.
