Charged by the EFL for failing to pay their players again!

Will they see it out to the end of the season?

Also Southend in trouble too, as well as not paying their players they've been charged with fielding an ineligible player in one of their very few wins this season.

Look KM ifJohn had not bailed us out when he did we might have spent about six years in non league trying to get back where we belong.

Expand on this Kingston - who else would you have accepted over the last few years with a couple of million quid to save his club at the time, & not to expect any profit from an eventual return on a loan?

If we win on Saturday and Stevenage lose we will be officially safe from relegation, just saying.

Where have you been? Not read any of the extensive threads explaining how he hasn’t put any money in in recent years, and how he turned a smaller debt into a much bigger debt?

Stevenage will have their ear to the door of the EFL hoping for a points deduction result against Macc.

Like Macc, my sympathy for Southend will disappear if it emerges that they agreed to pay Sol about a billion pounds for half a season's work.

A large percentage of the £182,000 that Macclesfield owe Sol Campbell is a bonus for keeping them up last season though. The difference between League 2 TV and solidarity payments & EFL parachute payment & National League TV money is around £500,000 and that's before you factor in lost earnings from reduced crowds and hardly any away support.

If you're a manager going into a club cut adrift at the bottom of League 2 and facing relegation you are going to want a good bonus in your contract for keeping them up given that it will result in the club not losing £700,000 or so a year in income overnight.

You say that but Ron Martin has owned Southend United since 1998 and bought Roots Hall back for the club for £4m in 2000. He's kept them out of administration before when they had a big tax bill. He's ultimately failed with relocation plans. Under him they've had 3 EFL promotions and 2 relegations. He hardly fits the bill for a "wrong type" of club owner.

And looking at that record he’s also more successful in football terms than I our “saviour”.

Fair points, Gollster.

No bonus this year for Sulzeer though. It could be breadline time for the former defensive colussus.

Surely this highlights that amongst the real dodgy folk, some that come in to it with good intentions aren’t up to it either.
