Most of the 1990-91 promotion-winning team are unforgettable: Sherwood, McDermott, Futcher, Lever, Cockerill, Cunnington, Gilbert, Childs, Rees, Woods, sub Tommy Watson.

However, I can't remember if Jobling or Agnew played more games at left back.

Agnew followed Buckley to West Brom, so does that mean he was better than Jobling?

I would say Agnew played more at fullback 'cos Jobling was initially signed as a midfielder where he was part of the formidable partnership with Cunnington. I think Jobling was the best right footed left back Town have ever had

The thing about Jobling was he was a good man marker as we rose up the levels and needed that on occasion, I seem to remember him sticking to Waddle like glue against Bradford I believe

My favourite Jobling moment was the goal he scored away at Reading in the FA cup.

Caught the back end of Jobling's long stint where he had become more of a utility man and as such a vital squad member despite not nailing down any set position as the main man there. But he always did a job wherever asked, and yes, the ultimate man market, totally freezing out elite class threats at times.

Jobling was signed as a utility midfielder and he didn't play full back much until Agnew left. in 1988-9 he played in midfield or out wide and was wrongly thought by most of us to be only a lightweight fill-in player. He sort of grew into the left back role much as John McDermott did on the other side after starting off as a winger.
