A possible contender for goal of the season? Or does the Green strike at Chelsea beat it?

I think Rose's goal was better. The way he beat his man just before blasting the ball into the net.

Would love to see our front three of Wright Ogbu and Rose given an extended run and use Hanson as a plan B as its no good playing him if we can not put the ball on his head.
Rose goal was a cracker pity he did not start the game with the other two mentioned.

Not for me. Robson's at Exeter was a cracker, as was Green's at Chelsea.

Wright just gets kicked around and Rose would too. you have Ogbu but having Hanson around drags a lot of pressure from the smaller pacey players because they have to deal with a big, strong player who is good in the air. Could probably play Rose from the start if he didn't have injury issues, feels like as soon as he starts a game again he pulls up with something. Hanson can win the ball, it's the players around him that don't do much with it when he does. Would love Rose around to run for Hanson to pass to but I'm dubious on if he'll last a full game and then be able to start the next. In many ways it depends on the game, Jolley is obviously trying to work to the opponent and sometimes it works as we saw against Exeter but he gets things wrong too. I don't think using some lightweight skinny fast boys will work in every single game. Bigger defenders will shut them out the game, we've seen it plenty of times before.

If his overhead kick had gone in we could have stopped the competition.

Nice turn of pace and direct running. Hit it well enough but am I alone in thinking the 'keeper should have done better with it? Left a massive gap at his near post.
Robson's long range strike at Exeter was technically outstanding, especially as the ball to him from Hessenthaler wasn't that great and slightly behind him. Had to adjust his body position and then still get that whip on it. Difficult enough to get that right even with an inch perfect pass.

My favourite goal this season is Robson's other one at Exeter. His first there, Green's at Cheslea and now Rose's at the weekend were all absolute bangers but they're all just great strikes from one player. The third at Exeter was quality from three players linking up. I can't recall who played the ball into Ogbu off the top of my head (was it Wright?), but it was a great pass. Ogbu bringing the ball down and getting it to Robson and then Robson letting the ball run across him taking out on Exeter defender in the process before smashing it home.

Wish he'd had more chances to run at their number 14 (the lad who assisted the assist with a lovely pass to Hanson) on Saturday, he was shite!

It seems that our 'A game' is built around Hanson and, at the end of August, none of us were complaining.
Hanson has stopped scoring. Have the opposition worked us out? Our 'B game' at Exeter seemed to work well.
Just one thing to consider, though... if Hanson's inclusion makes us a bit predictable and easier to play against, it's worth noting that his assists have continued.
He's on six for the season. Ogbu's on four, Max Wright on three.
Rose's goal, by the way, was a hell of a strike — a cracking finish for someone who must feel, like us, that he still hasn't really got his career going at Town yet. Hopefully that goal is the start of things to come.

I never agree with the 'a keeper shouldn't be beaten at their near post' concept. If a striker is close enough to the goal and hits the ball as hard and accurately as Rose did then there's no way to react in time to make a save.

If the keeper can not see it because of the speed the ball leaves Rose's boot he does not have time to react so agree.

I probably need to look at it again on the highlights but from behind the goal it looked like if the 'keeper had closed his angles down the ball would have hit him in the face.

Yeah, had a quick watch. Definitely wouldn't have hit him in the face but he left a massive gap to his right.
Not taking away from Rose's strike, but I would have been disappointed if that was our 'keeper.

Looks better on the highlights than I even thought on Saturday to be fair.
Whitehouse at fault for both of their goals. (not the only player at fault, but he was there for both).

Think it's a bit harsh to single out Whitehouse for the second one KM Sure he was in the corner with Davis when their lad squeezed the ball away from the corner flag to his team-mate to get a cross in I'd apportion more blame / put responsibility on the 5-6 Town defenders who didn't deal with the ball in the penalty area, allowing him to control the ball, turn and pick his spot

Sorry FOOW. I must have got the wrong scapegoat for this season 😉
I should have said Whitehouse was at fault with others in the run up to both goals.
