That'll teach him for saying our game with them is an "irrelevance". The Sunderland board obviously only knew one way to apologies to us.

True but I think in the light of his comments and the fact that he was fired on the eve of the BIG match tonight I think it should be considered.

Adkins might go for that. I bet he’d be into the Barnsley job for sure. Hurst might’ve liked the Barnsley job too but I’m not sure his stock is high enough to be a serious contender now. Might have been if he hadn’t plumped for L2 job (that isn’t going well) rather than bide his time.

I don’t know about Hurst, I think he made too much of an arsè of the Ipswich job to be seriously considered for another Championship role without first redeeming himself elsewhere. That said, I thought he might’ve held out for a decent League One gig at least.

Some seriously strange odds on Sunderland’s new manager betting though. Marco Silva and Chris Wilder both among the front runners - well ahead of Phil Parkinson who is both available and relevant to Sunderland’s latest predicament. I know the bookies have to start somewhere, but still...
