I've just had disagreement as to what a nutmeg is. I grew up with a nutmeg being when you pass the ball through players legs and then collecting it on other side, but apparently quite a few people think you just need to pass the ball through. It doesn't matter who receives it, or if you score, just the act of it going through is enough.

What's the fishys change collective wisdom on this?

I've always gone with saying of nut megged as putting the ball through a players open legs, and I always gone with megging when you put the ball through their open legs and get the ball on the otherside of them.

I believe the saying nutmegged comes from ye olden days as a way of tricking someone.
