Also shows how key having the right support is. The right kind of guidance at a young age.

Again its Premier League for you....no doubt he has had plenty of coaching, got paid well, access to fantastic facilities and all that but at the end of the day they are boys in a mans world and struggle to cope with being released and the inevitable coming back down to earth with a bump when it happens. Luckily for him in some ways it happened so young he may have time to comeback into the game through a progressive route and appreciate his career now.
There are so many like him who you have never heard of who were under Premier systems and now are out of the game....even locally, Jack Barlow and Adam Drury last known playing GY Boro and Cleethorpes Town when once on Premier League books.

One that I admire though is Christiano Ronaldo. Fantastic ability coupled with mental strength and has sacrificed a lot to get where he is.Result 5x world player of the year.Whats interesting is he effectively released himself from Real Madrid which is extraordinary .Hence had enough of Madrid and wanted a change in scenery hence his move to Juventus despite Perez the Real Madrid president wanting him to stay.Compare him say to the likes of Gareth Bale who again had great ability but didnt keep up the standards Madrid wanted hence why Real Madrid want him gone. Unlike Christiano Ronaldo who largely maintained the standards over a sustained period of time.

Ronaldo is clearly dedicated and has surrounded himself with the right people. At 18 years old he was signed by one of the best ever managers who, to this day, he still refers to as boss.

Yes and it was one of the biggest regrets of Alex Fergusons career that he didnt sign Paul Gascoigne. He feels had he gone to Manchester where he would of looked after him as opposed to the bright lights and greater temptations of London his career would of probably been more illustrious ?

Massively agree. An asbolute God of a footballer, Even at 34, you're talking about a ridiculous freak of nature. A man who stands 6'2. body of a God (which he deserves), massive strength, barmy pace over ten, one and more yards, incredible in the air, feet so quick you can't see. Mental strength and an insatiable desire to achieve, and that is what sets him aside from others to be the absolute best he can be, desire that at his age means he command a £100m transfer fee at 33 years old. He is a beast, IMO the greatest there has ever been. Anyone who reads this, and thinks I'm going over the top. He played 292 games for Real Madrid, scoring 311 goals. It's absolutely ludicrous, beyond reason.

To think he scored 311 goals for Real Madrid despite being a winger early in his career!

IMO Ronaldo has been the best of all time he’s done it in the premiership la liga for country and now the Italian league a real role model for football does all sorts for charity I’ve been lucky enough to see him play and he was unbelievable but it just goes to show what a manager sir Alex was especially in ronaldo’s early career he says it himself he was like a father figure to him

He's a lesson for all youngsters to stay away from the excessive drinking which sadly some do in the professional youth teams up and down the country and even amongst those who make it.

Drury snd Barlow not good enough for league football ? after all being coached to that level you would have thought it would be a walk in the park for them?

Still see Maradona as the best ever. Even given the fact he abused his body and failed to show the dedication and professionalism Ronaldo has done, he still pips him for me. Played in an age when players had little protection and single handedly (excuse the pun) won the World Cup.

The only reason people don’t see Ronaldo(Portugal one) as the best ever is down to jealousy! He has worked hard to get to where he is and has conditioned his body to be one of the best athletes of all time but at the same time he comes across to people as a bit of a knob and loves himself but wouldn’t we all if we were him?

Ronaldinho with the application of Ronaldo would undoubtedly have been the best.

I wouldn't call it jealousy, arrogance is just not a desirable traight. Messi however, God-like in skill but much more humble.
