Scarfs Dahn Sarf

Thanks to Immariner for the great tagline,

Are we going to do this then for the Palace game. I'm sure most Town fans have at least one black and white scarf and as has been mentioned, they are pretty reasonable to buy if you don't have one. If you have more that one then lend one to a mate who hasn't.

I'm not sure exactly what countries the game is being shown live in but I'd guess that quite a few people watching will probably never of heard of Grimsby Town before, so lets put on a good show for them and show them how we can still support our team, even though we maybe a smaller lower league team.

Everyone going, take a black and white scarf and when the players come out it will look brilliant if there are 3000 or more Mariners fans twizzling their scarves and I'm sure it'll give the players a lift. Not that they should need one mind.

Is there a good way of getting decent reach on social media? 'Grimsby Mariners' has 8.7k followers on facebook. Does the guy who runs that read the Fishy?

Won't it be great going through London seeing black and white scarves everywhere, with them getting more and more visible as you get closer to the ground? With 3000 wearing them it will feel like an invasion. 😃

We were only saying that to and from Chesterfield never saw a single Town scarf out a car .We will put that right.

Just bought 2 scarfs from the club shop for £5 each and mentioned that they're for CP game.

He was going to talk to his boss about spreading the word on social media.

Yes lets hope the club shop listen and have plenty of stock ready and can be on the ball so they can sell a Palace ticket and then drop in the line ,, , " would you like to buy a scarf for the game for a fiver??"

By the sounds of it i don't think there's much stock left and i got the impression that no more is on order. Could be wrong and maybe they'll be on board the scarf train.

Take a scarf.  Take a Harry Haddock if you have one.  Take a bog roll.  Take a ripped up newspaper.  Take a friend.

It would be good to see the club "upselling" when people come to buy their tickets and take away all the programmes and calendars from the checkout and instead get a big pile of bar-scarves and Harry Haddocks there.

I also agree with all those saying we need to be in our black and white.  I'm sure we will be as there's no clash (and both red and purple are closer potential clashes with Red/Blue) but it is important to the fans to wear our traditional colours for a big game like this.  If Palace's Blue shorts are a problem for our black shorts then let's wear the "Juve" combo by getting the white shorts and socks out.

For a bit of fun mate, it would create a decent spectacle. It's not mandatory, relax.

To go really retro why not dig out those old silk scarves they used to have in the early 70s and tie them to your wrist? The old white butcher's jackets would look somewhat dated as well, but would certainly catch the eye - especially if bloodstained.

If you're referring to my post I was just referring to a few specific, nice but expensive places around London Bridge. Cheaper venues are available as I also alluded to.

I know I know! Plenty of cheap places but also lots of Landon prices - I live inNorthampton and many a pint here is close to a fiver and over in some places

Got my old scarf out and according to the OS we are in home kit which is great news.
