From the OS guide to Chesterfield....

"Celebrity Watch.

James Hill (TV personality), entrepreneur and winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2015, Sir John Hurt actor and Ian Hyland, Daily Mirror television critic - all originate from these parts."

He died in Jan 2017 FFS and given his local connections that shouldnt be too hard to have picked up on.

Well John Hurt is the only one I’ve really heard of. Is that the James Hill with the chin who played for Fulham, got the maximum wage scrapped and went on MOTD? I think Hyland had a couple of hits in the early 60s, Ginny Come Lately did quite well.

What you posted maybe tongue in cheek but  Jimmy Hill (the footballer ) didn't appear on the shows mentioned in the original post and it was Brian Hiland (?) who was the singer .

It is poorly written
I don't think they mean to 'watch out' for them - Jimmy Hill and John Hurt are both dead; Hyland guy is a journalist who is barely known outside of that field...so pretty desperate in any case

It says at the end 'all originate' - that should be past tense for greater clarity

Either crap writing or a woeful lack of current affairs knowledge - and possibly both

John Hurt was born in Nottingham.  His father was a vicar who took over the church opposite Blundell Park when John was eleven years old.

The two biggest celebrities from pop music are Steve Currie, founding member of T. Rex with Marc Bolan, and Rod Temperton who was a singer song writer. He wrote a lot of Michael Jackson's hits including the biggest hit of all time, Thriller.

What winds me up most is that someone is getting paid for it, its p1ss poor....i imagine the content is produced at a central company as all clubs seem to have similar features/info on their websites but surely someone at the club can proof read......its like that away supporters guide that was torn to fking shreds on here a couple of months ago....p1ss poor.

Or maybe people just care enough about what is published by their football club. It undermines confidence that people at the club know what they're doing. If the management don't care who puts out factually incorrect, poorly worded communications, it probably reflects the lack of care the management themselves have for its stakeholders (i.e. you and me, the paying public, media, other clubs and their views of us).

Tbh I don’t know why the club even bothers putting this sort of article on the site . It’s completely irrelevant to the match and I’m pretty sure 99.8% of people don’t give a flying fook about it anyway. And the 0.2 % that do have a mardy if it’s not right 😂😂
