I refuse to believe that a change of manager will bring about a change in fortune. Haven't we tried that before several times?

We all know the person who has precided over the shitshow that has been the last 15 years. Please John, if you care one jot about this club, leave and leave now, you are not fit to run a football club and that has been clear for a long time.

I know, I realise he is going to cling on until he gets his loans back or until the bitter end. It doesn't mean we should suppress our feelings or make it easy for him though.

Most of us thought Jolley was the answer after he pulled off a miracle last season. This season it’s clearly not working, we are on an awful run and he has to go. I hope he falls on this sword tomorrow. Going forward who do we appoint? It’s a lottery simple as that, I sure we will find the right person at some point, I just hope it’s the next one. Keep believing, our time will come again.

I've said it before. Deckchairs and Titanic. Changing manager again would be like moving the former on the latter.

The fans have to put the pressure on and push for a change. We have to have vocal opposition in the ground.

3000 of us committed to a season ticket after nearly being relegated. They put the matchday prices up.
You’re not telling me that the budget has improved from last season. We nearly got relegated and they’ve done nothing to stop us being shite. Jolley’s career is the collateral damage.

I have to agree, we continue to blame the players or the manager but time after time we change the manager, season after season we change the players but nothing changes. I liked Bignot he seemed a breath of fresh air, he brought in some decent players he was building something I still don't understand what went wrong. Slade, well the less said about him the better but there were some reasonable players brought in, and now Jolley, the majority of fans were delighted with his appointment as was I, this was going to be the start of something big. I seem to remember reading on here in the summer how good the signings were looking that we were going to be a force to be reckoned with. I really want Jolley to succeed but once again it is all falling apart. The problems lie much deeper the change has to come elsewhere to save our beloved club which is slowly having the life squeezed out of it by the stranglehold of those in charge. UTM

Jolley performed miracles at the end of last season, this season it seems the budget isn't good enough to get the right players in and you reap what you sow. No wingers, no quality striker and weak minded players.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Hold on a minute
All this moaning about the budget
There isn’t a single player that Jolley has signed, who in the opinion of Jolley, isn’t up to the job.
Our manager has been delighted with all of HIS signings

He’s hardly gonna say the players are shite and I’ve been given a shite budget.

The budget is the same old shite. The idea that he’s been backed is a fallacy. We lost our best players last season and that money doesn’t find its way into the budget.

Yes. You can just imagine the press conference. 'I've signed shite players because the budget is so poor.'

I'm sure any manager would be really honest like that, and that sort of refreshing honesty would be received with warmth by a grateful major shareholder/largest secured creditor.

We'll never know whether he is the common denominator unless he departs

At the moment everything large or small that goes wrong is blamed on him. Probably unfair but it's just the way it is

I'm sure Russell Slade is looking at our results with a wry smile

Nail on head 👍👍

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Despite my constant criticism I don't WANT to do that - but he never ever seems to learn from circumstance or experience.

If he refuses to work with, or appoint people in all areas of the club who could give advice and guidance then whose fault is that? The lack of investment (by investment I mean money being spent with no guarantee of getting it back) is killing us; the team the stadium and the infrastructure needs major investment and under the current set up he is the only man who could do it, but he won't. He thinks keeping the club on life support till we eventually pass away is good enough. It isn't and again whose fault is it?

This is a full blown crisis of his own making. Jolley has disappointed for sure, but it goes much deeper than the first team manager. If we don't pull ourselves together and quick we will be making a return to non league, and I am afraid that will be that for many of us till we get new owners, and even then only if they can provide the money professional football demands.

Even non league clubs are super organised, a lot of them well financed and in league football even more so and we are being left so far behind it is laughable.

It cannot be run on a shoestring; well it can but the result is obvious. He has seen this over and over yet still refuses to act differently.

This is the worrying thing. I fear that if we fall through the trap door once again there will be no way back.

I still believe (my personal opinion and not the intellectual property of this site) that a certain "non chairman" based around the Humberstone Av area got involved because he saw a "fatted calf" in the TV money we could and ultimately didn't end up getting.

There you go enough to get this thread removed?

Absolutely. Being a businessman he wanted to make money when he first took over, not lose any. Who wouldn't ?

This explains his reluctance to actually spend anything on it till he can get rid.
