Am sorry but this guy isn’t the answer to our frontline this season,
Not faulting his worth rate but his not going to scoring a lot this season, apart from his hat trick at the end of last season a lot of fans didn’t rate him and I still don’t.
He could be a good substitute late on to try run at defences but after 5 games I don’t see enough for him to warrant a first team place right now.
I’d much rather have Vernam there with Cookie and Woolford/Thomas.
I’d even like to see Robles or A.Rose get there chance.
Am sorry but he can’t start again next weekend against Yeovil time to give someone else ago, Vernam for me.

Hooper seems to late to react and not quick enough to take players on, hasn't shown enough to warrant a starting place. He wasn't on his own though as several players weren't up for it today.

I can see why Jolleys given that run of games to give him a chance to find form, but feel if the team stays static now some of the players on the bench would be annoyed about it

Hooper just doesn't seem to know how to play football. Both Famewo and Hendrie were shouting at him telling him what to do, he either doesn't know or just doesn't. I was really really desperatwly hoping he would carry on his form from the end of last season Howecer it looks like he wants to carry it on from the start of last season. Vernam did more in todays match then he has all season and thats saying alot.

FFS leave the kid and the other players alone. Everyone is disappointed when we lose but having a pop at individuals is a bit mad really.

Imo we are a team nearly there with some decent players ready to take us further , unfortunately players like hooper and dixon will prevent us doing that.
As much as some people on here dont like it, not jolleys fault as he inherited them but hooper is nowere near good enough.

Thought he played well against MK Dons. Surprised when he got substituted. Still, intercourse it, let’s put him in a giant wicker man and set fire to it. And pour hot jam down his trousers. And poo on the driver’s seat of his car.

There are ex Town players and loanees banging in goals everywhere while our strike force (I use the term loosely) can't hit a cow's bottom with a banjo.
As far as Hooper is concerned he is still living on the glory of a hat trick against a Forest Green side who who had absolutely nothing to play of and didn't give a excrement in last season's closing game,
A different story in the FGR game (and every other game) this season Hooper is sadly just one of what is a totally ineffective attacking unit

Because this is a message board and if we uncritically accepted poor results and poor performances without trying to analyse which players aren't up to standard there'd be intercourse all to talk about.

At what stage of the week will it be PC to contribute to the 'Team for Yeovil' thread without being accused of 'slagging off'? It's a squad game.

When the players are on the pitch in black and white shirts I will always support them, But it won’t change people’s opinions including mine if they think a player is good enough or performing to the standard expected.

Agree with this entirely and it’s far better than screaming it from the lower findus. It grates however when it’s the same target every week.

I do try to be fair with my criticisn OC, Not just jump on the bandwagon on who is the scapegoat of the week or month. In my opinion Hooper is not lazy like a lot say he is he works hard on and off the ball, BUT He is not a striker who antisipates situations so will not score many goals, BUT He is not a bad player.

Pete, he is a talented footballer who waits for things to happen. Whether that makes him lazy is a personal opinion - I think his contribution doesn't justify a starting spot - but hey, it's just my opinion.

I can see what M.J. wants not sure he as all the right players yet or even if they all understand the system he wants them to play. Let's hope we turn it on against Yeovil.
Hooper needs to get into the form he showed back end of last season he as the build and ability to be a lot more commanding really want him to show us this.
Come on J.J. prove the doubters wrong get in there.
