Lincoln 1-3 Grimsby

Neilson brown and pittman.

They are better than they were last season but so are we.

Telling stat for me is they have conceded 13 in 7 games, so if we go at them and take our chances, we should prevail.

0-2.

I hope we stay calm and don't rise up to their thuggish tactics. If we play it on the floor then I know what the outcome will be as they don't know how to play football on the floor.

Goals, scuffles, bruises, red cards. After 3 defeats I expect some borderline-psychotic rough play from them. Not sure if they've improved as much as some think, still based around the very average Power in the middle, our central players this season are a million times better, just depends how we handle the physical side.
Town not to lose.

Gimps 2   Town 2
Pitman & LJL.
Tomlinson & Burrows

4980 (1850 Town)

I've a feeling someone will get a red in this one.

Simply could not bare to lose this one.

They haven't beaten us for so long the thought of it happening now is unbearable. Can't stand them.

Come on town, keep them muppets down and out where they belong!!

3-0 to the mighty mariners!!!

Town win. If you're going to win the league you've got to beat the minnows.

They are below us in the table as usual so as usual I expect we will win comfortably, 4-1.

Gimps 0 - 2 Town

Two first half goals from Lenny and Pittman and a horrible second half of long throw ins and endless dirty tactics

Att. 5023 (1800 Town)

1-2

McLaughlin 12
John-Lewis 45

Paddy Power 25 (pen)

Some players sent off; a Lincoln one for 2 yellows (2 horrific challenges) and Pittman for looking at the ref funny.

I think we'll win comfortably and keep a clean sheet. 3-0 to Town. Crowd will be around 5000, half of whom will be Grimsby.

Lincoln from Saturdays defeat:https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=m6sW17--xcM

Not pretty, Woking seemed much more physical (in a fair way) and up for it, it would seem Lincoln only have a chance against us if they lift themselves and kick us around going on this display.
And they can't defend! (blink2)

I'm sure Scott Brown could take care of the whole Gimps team, the fear is that we fall for it and get a red, which is surely on their game plan. Simpson is a pretty poor manager for me, barely capable of a Plan A,  and the red card log under him is awful.

We have one of the best attackers in the league and one of the best defense. Lincoln have one of the worst. Town 2-0 for me

I hope both Neilson and Paddy M have seen this video and run at Lincoln from the off.

I also fancy Clay to pop up with a goal, from where he holds himself at the edge of the area waiting for rebound clearances.

Woking could have had another 3 or 4 on chances squandered.

Was Lincoln's goal actually OVER the line?? Sympathy decision by the ref and linesman.

Thought that myself. While Lincoln fans are questioning every decision that appeared to go against them it look like that ball ran across the line but not over.
They looked poor either way.

Town to win 5-4,

4 reds, 2 for each side, 10 yellows, 5 apiece

Lewis 4, Hannah pen

Lincoln fans are only expecting 4000-4500 including away fans! So potentially under 2500 home fans for a local derby.

I suppose there sick and tired of seeing us beat them at Sincil bank so that is why they get a small turnout.  ;)

We might reverse what has happened over the last few years,

Instead of winning at Lincoln we draw,

Instead of drawing at home to Lincoln we win,

Instead of our form falling away in the new year, we go on an unbeaten run to the end of the season.

That will do for me. 8)

Lincoln have conceded 13 goals this season to our 4 (which I believe may have been 2 or 3 had LJL not been harshly sent off).  Lincoln have conceded 6 out of 7 games this season and have conceded 3 goals in each of their last three games. So on that not I think we'll score, as long as we can keep them out we should be laughing, their kick em tactics don't often work against us.

3-1 Mariners

All of our goals we have conceded other than Maddison's at Gateshead have been week. I am pleased they have got a good attack and a weak back line compared to a strong back line and a weak attack.

2-1 to town.

A real squeaky bum of a game with Lincoln leading 1-0 at half time and late goals from Hannah and Pittman turning it around

My twice annual check of the mood on Vital Lincoln hasn't disappointed this time. Unconfident, full of woe and as usual some feeble excuses for not attending.

The excuses have run out, no chance of 'it's the festive season, we have relatives around; I'll still be drunk; it's too cold; the Italian Job's on.....'
Far easier to sit on the Vital Forum and shout 'Get In' if they score and 'Season over' when they lose.

If we get a strong Ref i believe we will win, but they have proved to be
just a bunch of thugs over the last couple of seasons, so if we get a Ref
of the usual standard  we might have problems, i just hope that extra ability
is allowed to decide the game.

I love playing golf (although golf hates me playing it) but there is not a chance I would "play golf until dusk" as one poster on there said he was going to on the night of a derby game. Especially at home.

Ha...yeah, that is priceless. Pretty sure it's rather dusk-like at 7.45 now anyway, he could indulge in two of his favourite vices with a bit of effort but I guess he's just not feeling the love for his beloved club.

Ive given this some thought and have come to the conclusion that apart from the last three games Lincoln have shown that they have a better team now than last season,  and as such it will be more difficult for us to win this one, so I will downgrade my score prediction to:-    Lincoln 0 Town 4

Marcus Marshall might get a game! http://www.lincolnshireecho.co.uk/Marcus-Marshall-hoping-shine-Lincoln-City-old/story-22889190-detail/story.html#comments

He's settled in and learnt about his new club though:
“We’re not used to big crowds, but there will be a few thousand there,” said Marshall." (whistling)

Correction

“We’re not used to big crowds, but there will be a few thousand there,” said Marshall. “That makes a difference, it lifts your spirits when 40% of the crowd is behind you and you can play a bit better.
