Stockport home Saturday. Colchester away Tuesday Doncaster home Saturday week.
What do people think would be a realistic number of points from these games?
Obviously a tough game on Saturday, but I am confident we could get four points from the other two. Anything over 4 points from these matches would be very good going.

Agree Ron 4+ should be possible in whatever order , knowing us beating Stockport and losing the other 2 isn't beyond the realms . Hope you are well

In touch with the Sutton fan we know through work today and he reckons they are as good as down. He also reckons that Donny are the worst team he's seen this season (only a blunder by the Sutton keeper gave them a draw), so that game ought to be considered a must-win for us, I'd have thought.
I seem to think we've always tended to struggle at Colchester, though I could be mistaken. I'd accept a draw for that one, I think. Anything at Stockport would be a massive bonus.

Aim for 3 clean sheets to steady the ship and anything else is a bonus !!
A solid defence lessens pressure on the attackers to score 2 or 3 in every game.
Lots of chances made but there is a need for more clinical finishing and looking for better positions from crosses coming in.
Now that corner deliveries are going past the first post, hopefully some chances will come like when Hunt was feeding Waterfall last season. New players, new ways to score the goals, hopefully.

3 clean sheets and anything else a bonus you say well I think if we don’t get a win against Doncaster or Colchester then we’re in trouble. We have to win at least one of those games.

I think, if we’re willing to accept that the objective is simply to avoid relegation, then there’s an argument that 3 is par, given that a point per game is our current run rate and maintaining that to the end of the season almost certainly keeps us up. It would mean one of Sutton or Forest Green taking several more points from their last 16 / 17 than they have from their 29 / 30 to date, to scupper that. You’d hope if our newfound defensive robustness, brief though it’s been, continues into the next few games then we’re capable of more, but 3 points wouldn’t be a disaster, imo.

4 is the absolute bare minimum and the more probable outcome, I'm hoping for at least 5 and I'll be delighted with anything higher then that

This is how I feel too. I think a win over Doncaster would be the most morale boosting possibility. Even if we lost to Stockport and at Colchester - winning that game would indeed maintain that one point per game survival strategy until we go into later Feb and early March. It would also encourage supporters if we have indeed lost the two games prior. My struggle is, I’m hoping for a point on Saturday, another draw on Tuesday night and then turn Donny over and 5 points will do nicely. I need to keep the probability of that on an even keel. Another interesting proposition is - make your game plan all about keeping Stockport to nil, or even 1 goal. To almost play the shut out and the draw. I’m not saying DA should do that and I’m not sure I think he’s got that in his mentality, but it’s a strategy nonetheless. I’d take 0-0 Saturday right now if offered. Definitely.

I don’t think this squad are capable of that against a decent attacking side.

That’s a strong point.
Like Good Friday a couple of years ago, it’ll take a big slice of luck for us to get anything out of Stockport. They were so much better than us for most of the first-half that day, but then Sarcevic’s inexplicable decision to fly in on Efete for a red, followed by Challinor’s inexplicable decision to take Quigley off at half-time changed everything. Town actually played very well in the second period, but it took that to even give us a sniff.

At risk of tempting fate, are Stockport as invincible as they may seem? I know they had that ridiculous run of about 76 wins in a row earlier in the season, but in their last 11 (league games), they've only won 4.
Granted, 2 of those 4 have come in the last 3, and they've handed out some severe beatings to sides near us in the table, but, fuelled by drawing 0-0 with Accrington, I reckon we might spring a surprise.

I like the optimism. Stocky have the best away record in the division (on PPG), while we have the third worst home record. They’ve still got 6 or 7 players on their books who played in our 2-1 win against them during the promotion season, while there’s just Clifton and Holohan with us, and we remain a constantly evolving team of misfits to some extent. I’ve just got zero confidence of a win going into this one. Then again, I also had zero confidence going to the aforementioned victory, which only goes to prove that I know the sum total of fúck all. It’s a good test for the new lads, that’s for sure.

It's got coupon buster written all over it. Banker away win, no such thing. The three new players looked to have shawed us up defensively. We seem to be their bogey side so who knows?

Realistically we could quite easily lose the first two and draw with Doncaster.
If so, we’re in trouble.

Only won 1 of the last 5 though. The more I think about it, the more I think we should be beating a tinpot Conference North outfit like them 3 or 4 nil

We now have 2 new full-backs and a new midfielder who performed ok in the last outing. If we had the old players I would have agreed with you but with the new recruits, I'm hoping for a win by 1 goal with a clean sheet again.
