Goes with best wishes and did a good job when called upon

Thought he was particularly good against Solihull in the POF with some brilliant last ditch tackles when the game could have gone either way.

Should be a high end NL player , he's only 24 so may get back
In the league if he does well .

Thanks and good luck Danny

A move that seems to make sense for all parties. I understand his mum, Tori, is now based in Upper Poppleton, so he’ll be able to nip in for a cuppa on a much more frequent basis.

Did a solid for us that promotion year. Won’t be forgotten.

Good luck Danny.
York have a good signing there.
Always gave his all for Town

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Really liked how Danny came across, yet another one who, without him, we probably would not have not gone up in that playoff campaign. Made a noticeable difference in our ability to attack down the left when he took over from crookes and had a great attitude, got an assist in that Wrexham game too I think. Did he also save one off the line?

Definitely goes with my best wishes.

Good luck to him. I have a fondness for all of the players that took part in that playoff campaign and the build up to it, because they gave me incredible memories that I will never forget, and restored pride in my club.

Really liked Amos, never really let us down any time he played for us and I think he’s capable of playing in the EFL. Feels like if he played 10 years ago he’d be a regular in any side, but players in his position have much more pressure to be able to go forward these days, which was never his main strength.

He’s one of the few players I’ve met and he was a top bloke, had loads of time for a chat and struck me as a genuinely nice guy.

Hope he does well and finds himself back in the league soon.

I definitely warmed to Danny. He appeared to genuinely love playing for Town and supporters appreciated his passion. I think he has issues around his confidence and you could see him mentally beat himself up, when a pass went array. He would often be looking at the ground shaking his head after over apologising to his team mates. Sometimes I thought he should just cut himself some slack! Ill never forget him going wild, climbing on the seats on the top deck of the celebration bus post promotion back to the league. Like I said, full of passion.

I thought he did ok in most of his games and when you look at the goals we concede and the defensive frailties we have had he was no worse than some of the others who managed to keep their place in the side.

Good look to the lad.

Glad he’s got a move to a decent club. Hope he gets back playing regularly & gets some confidence back. More than held his own in the playoff run (apart from getting roasted for 15mins in the first half V Notts) and for most of last season.

A good defender on his day but never quite found the consistency to win the place ahead of Glennon (who is much inferior defensively, IMHO).

He did well for us in the National League and I expect he'll do well for York as well.

Solid old school left back, always put a shift in. Also think he could kick on and make a return to the EFL as noted above, but probably not suited to the current aspirations for our style of play.

Don't they all and shouldn't they all?
It's a much more solid left back that we need - Amos got caught out far too often and his distribution was often poor

He will be OK at NL level

Imperative that we never go back to that level. Bouncing back first time was an incredible achievement, but it took Wrexham 14 years and 2 attempts with Hollywood money, Chesterfield look to have finally done it after 6/7 attempts, Notts took 4/5 attempts, we took 6 attempts first time. Stockport went lower and took years to come back.

I think you can now miss out the words "look to".  22 points clear with a game in hand.

The Spireites should be welcomed back into the Football League.  They have a smart little ground, with side stands that run the full length of the pitch and unrestricted views.

Good set up at chesterfield with an even better manager in place but he got players on vast amounts of money for the level & it helps that the lge is bang average apart from them but having said all that still a g8 achievment to be 22 clear in feb

I live in Poppleton too, I don’t think I’ve met Danny’s mum but it can be hard to tell as there are an awful lot of Tories living in the village.

Best wishes to Danny Amos for further success in his career. He played a big part in getting the Mariners back into the football league, for sure, but the first image that pops into my mind concerning Danny is the third goal in the cup replay first half demolition of now Premier
