I've just had an email from the trust regarding the above. They need volunteers in our area, if you want to join please contact them, it's a good cause as we know.

to me

Good Morning,

We have been contacted by the Alzheimer’s Society and asked to share information on their Side by Side service to our members.  If this is of interest, please do contact Becky directly.

Dear Mariners Trust Members

I would like to introduce myself as the Side by Side Co-Ordinator and Community Development Co-Ordinator for the Alzheimer’s Society in North East Lincolnshire.

Side by Side is a vital Service for people living with dementia. It is a Service that supports people living with a diagnosis of dementia to be active and engaged in their local community. Enjoying activities and hobbies that bring them joy.

Side by Side is an amazing service. However, we cannot deliver the service without support of amazing volunteers. Volunteers enable people to stay connected in their communities and build their confidence to stay active and engaged in social and recreational activities.

Recently I have met with people living with a diagnosis of dementia who would like to continue attending Grimsby Town Football games with the support of a Side by Side Volunteer.

I am reaching out to you today to ask if there is anyone in Grimsby Town Football Club Community who would like to sign up and volunteer for the Side by Side Service?

All volunteers will be made to feel welcome, included, and respected. They receive training, guidance, and support to ensure people feel confident in their volunteering role. Volunteers have a role manager who will support them throughout their journey with us.  They receive out of pocket expenses (agreed before you start in line with our policy).

To find out more or register your interest please follow the following link:

If I can offer any further details to promote this volunteering role, please do let me know.

Very Best Wishes

Becky

I thought I'd mention it again, just in case somebody is interested.
