Rooney relieved of his duties at Birmingham city.

Makes a total farce of getting rid of John Eustace.

Maybe get him back in or possibly ex forest manager Steve cooper

Birmingham City have been an omnishambles for a long time. This just adds to their history of chaos.

Absolute karma. 6th when Eustace was given the boot.

If you want to see what success looks like in the Championship then look at Ipswich.

They appointed a 37 year old unproven manager,

In 2023 they amassed a 100 points and scored and a 100 goals.

Their 30 wins in 2033 was not beaten by any team in the 4 divisions.

Promotion to the Championship is hard (ask Sheff Wed).

Yet Ipswich went top just before Xmas.  If very briefly,  after 21 games they had the 2nd highest points total in the Championship ever.

A fantastic record.  From memory, their GD in div 1 last season was something like 51.

They had over 29,000 for the draw with Leicester.

Sorry, correction:  Ipswich had a GD of 66 last season.  Very special.

Perfect for a struggling non league team. Hartlepool a couple of hours up the motorway for him.

Rooney at Salford would be as fantastically destructive as it would be nauseating as Sky tried to shoe-horn some sort of non existing prodigal son returning link in there.

I actually thought it looked like Birmingham were getting their act together until I saw an interview with Tom Brady and their new chairman earlier in the season in matching white jeans.

Ignoring the fashion faux pas, they clearly just don't get it and even clearer they don't get it when the axed Eustace who had worked a minor miracle for the clueless Rooney.

Wasn't their "justification" for sacking the former manager something along the lines of wanting "to bring in an identifiable style of entertaining play across the whole club".

Why they wouldnt think its about winning more football matches than you lose I don't know.

I can see that working for both parties. I can’t see Hurst getting a L2 job at the moment.

I can just see Salford going for Rooney or Hughes.

Hope your right about 30 wins for Ipswich in 2033 , I've just put £100 on them at 1,000,000 to1 . Just hope I live that long

Not a sacking but looks like Luke Williams is off to Swansea.
