Our, hopefully temporary, underwhelm in the first quarter of the season, should be seen in context of the longer term picture for the squad - building a squad round long contracts for quality young players…

Definitely a statement of how the club view him.

His last contract came on the back of a lengthy injury and this one comes at a time when he's seemingly bogged down with niggles.

I think the lad is quality and could go onto be something very special for us.  Just hope he can stay fit.  He's at the age now where he needs to shake off that promising tag and make himself a mainstay.

I agree.  I think all four of  those in a diamond is the best mix-up of what we've got.   Conteh holding, Clifton and Khouri giving energy in the heart of it but the ability to drift out a bit wider, Hunt at the tip to be the one who picks passes out.   If needed you can drop Hunt in or move Conteh forward to make it a 3.  There's even the ability to make it a narrow 4 if you want.

Unfortunately that system probably needs strong and in form full-backs.
