I'd have him in for pyke personally

Most definitely.

Some players have a languid running style but beat players, create chances and score goals.

From what I've seen so far, Pyke just has a languid running style.

I’m very much hoping we’ve not seen the best of Pyke yet. It was by no means a unanimous view, but some Shrews fans were disappointed to see him go. He’s played 70 odd times for a League One side over the course of the past two seasons so basic logic would suggests he has some talent at this level.

Can’t really dispute that we haven’t seen it yet, however.

Oddly enough, one of our customers, a Wrexham fan, spoke highly of him before the season began as well.

I've seen him do OK-ish for a couple of spells in games, but I really don't get why Hurst signed him to be a striker. He doesn't look to have a clue how to lead the line and isn't taking the right positions in the box to nick goals from a loose ball. I can forgive him this to some degree as I understand he's been mostly played as a wide player during his career so far, but he hasn't looked to be putting in enough effort most of the time.

One of the oddest Hurst signings I can remember, truth be told.

The most charitable verdict I can think of is 'unconvincing'.

Hamish Watson?

Utterly bizarre in how we applied for international clearance for someone to then use them little.  Impossible to say if he was any good because we saw so little of him.  What I would say is that in his last appearance, he managed to cause more panic in the Bristol Rovers backline in his little cameo spell than the rest of the side did in the whole game.

Soon as Ollie Palmer came in he had no chance as that 'big man' option up top.

Pyke looked lost when we were on the attack against Crawley, or like a rabbit in the headlights when presented with that one on one, no surprise he didn't score. The contrast with Wilson when he has had half a chance is stark.

I will say that the moment we got a decent pull back against crawley he looked ok, won the header, didn't score (and off side anyway) but better than the rest of his front play. Unfortunately this is not the type of balls we are likely to be getting in to him at all. He's not a natural striker tha much is obvious, but what he does offer is perhaps not suited to what we are likely to present him.

Looks to me that we have had the striker we've all been craving for all along in Wilson. He's just been injured and we haven't seen him yet. I would like to see him and Rose play together as I think they are both good finishers.

Weird isn’t it. A few of our fans bang on about clinical strikers, we win a game because our strikers were clinical and get in the right position and all we talk about is how Barrow should’ve battered us, not the fact the clinical strikers we’ve craved are at the club…

Ironically, Barrow, for all their chances, weren’t clinical…one stat matters in football…

Talking of Cheltenham, we all know that if they were to play us during their goalless run it would come to an end.it’s just how we do things.
