Called up to Pakistan again.

Good for him. MOTM at the Crawley game for me IMO. Big loss for us though especially when we're needing more firepower 🥺

Accrington (H)

He’ll probably miss the Scum Cup dead rubber against Bradford but be back for Stockport (A)

plays once and he goes level with the legendary Pat Glover, plays in both and he becomes Grimsby's most capped player ever

I haven’t checked our full history of international players, but Khan has played 6 times for Pakistan; Darren Bernard, Danny Coyne and John Oster played for Wales 24, 16 and 13 times respectively.

Mad that Glover, comfortably our all time top-scorer, most of them in the top-flight, got less than a third of the caps of Barnard. Can only assume that the road links between Grimsby and Cardiff weren’t great in the 1930s (not that they’re brilliant now, tbf).

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.

Thanks for that, it does not sound so bad with the Bradford game included.

Could be wrong but I think the stat means whilst playing for Town. Those mentioned were at other clubs when they got most of their caps.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

Sheer lack of games international games at that period too.  Glover won his caps between 1931 and 1939, 7 caps.  Wales only played 24 games in that period.

For context Wales have played 24 games since September 1st 2021.

I'm sure I saw something on Twitter yesterday about their coach complaining about the poor standard of their pitches and how dangerous they are.

Yeah, their (British) manager said he’d, “never seen facilities like this, not even back in the ’90s (or at Cheapside during the Fenty era)”

Stephen Constantine is their boss who's managed all over Asia n wrote quite an interesting,  if self important, autobiography. Od expect him to improve them.
Noticed that Eisah Suleiman has been appointed captain n is now playing in the Azerbaijani premier league.
Btw this is a 2 legged tie with the winners going into a qualifying group of Tajikistan, Jordan n the mighty Saudis.
It's also the first time in many years that the home tie will actually be played in Pakistan, so it could be quite a raucous affair.
Pk apparently have half a chance, Constantine is a good appointment, whilst Cambodia are in a bit of disarray, after the japanese superstar Honda, left after running them successfully for a few years.
