Cant think of a time weve come into a season with such a full ready squad, knowing exactly what were going to try and do and how we play, and knowing exactly what we hope the new players will add.

Why does there appear to be no coverage on the Grimsby Telegraph? That's the only way for me to keep up with the match over the pond - except for the Fishy, of course.  Have the Telegraph given up on us?  All I get today is an interview with Harry.

I took a mate there who was a STH at Ibrox (this is before Rangers’ time in the lower leagues). He found it hilarious that he could see someone putting their washing out while the game was going on.

Spare a thought for Welling fans - 5-6 hour trip to Truro (600 mile round trip) in this weather and they're 5-1 down at half time ! It's also the bosses managerial debut, what a start!

Positives. . Vernham is superb

Negative our left back is having a mare

Decision making and final ball really lacking in the top third of the pitch there. We're comfortably controlling possession but nothing is coming off in attack.

Reasonable first half. Two evenly matched sides, both very wasteful in the final third. Conteh best player on the pitch. Eastwood has looked a bit dodgy at times to me.

Our build up play tends to be lively and slick but either the final ball will be poor (Glennon a frequent culprit) or there will be no one there. Rose going down too easily

I see that Lloyd hasn't made the team sheet or bench today - could do with his running and enthuse up front today to take some pressure off Rose.

Well not through lack of effort that it's still 0:0, not found that final pass yet though too many scuffed balls and misplaced passes. Team has looked decent, bits of pace and some good passing shown some of them just need to settle down a bit and be a bit more patient, especially Hunt but maybe it's just first game of the season and everybody wants to impress. Conteh has stood out so far looks tidy on the ball and good in the tackle, strong lad too he basically walked through a Wimbledon player a couple of times.

AFC Wimbledon seem more direct and do switch the ball through midfield very quickly into our box, been caught out a couple of times and got let off by somebody failing to pull the trigger quicker. Just need to be more patient in waiting for chances in the second half, it's still anybody's game right now, too many players rushing things or getting rattled by the main stand foghorn who has made himself known after about 30 minutes telling everybody how to play football.

Think we’ll see Glennon being targeted as the weak link a lot this season

We kind of look exactly the same as last season whilst having much better individuals on the pitch. Some stuff to like, but the performance so far feels quite familiar.

Rodgers & Conteh look great, and saying that, all the new signings look to have improved us in some way.

Glennon will be ok, he’s just a bit sluggish today…..

Good game for both sides this really. All our set peice deliveries have been pretty good too wimbledon have just defended them well

Typical Town start to the season and a typical Town home game.
We was the better team overall but they probably had some better chances .
The question is how good are Wimbledon going to be this season ?

Disappointing not to get off to a winning start but decent point in a competitive game. Good performances from Conteh, Maher, Mullarkey but looks like we haven't solved last seasons problem yet.
Lots of encouraging signs but I would have them on the training pitch practising crosses. So many times we were in good positions only to waste the opportunity.
Also, welcome to League 2 to everyone's favourites Wrexham and Notts County.

Was a good game really, an even one and a draw is the right result, but despite the result im 100% confident watching this that where a better team all round than last season. I think id have a khan or ghanoua in behind rose and sacrifice hunt or clifton, go with a midfield of green and conteh. I think conteh looks brilliant to be fair. Was impressed with mullarkey and rodgers too. Felt vernam started well but dropped off a bit as time went on. A different game though and more match fitness and this system might work better, think wimbledon were pretty solid to be fair

It was an okay game for both sides, a lot of quality lacking but nice ideas and the ball was spread by each team. Not a great start but not a bad one either, I think we can be happy with that.

Well, we were pretty good but sadly lacking in that final third although you have to give Wimbledon credit as they defended superbly when they needed to. Two decent sides by the look of that and a very fair result.
Conteh MOM. Outstanding.

Think Wimbledon will cause teams problem with the physicality alone, we stood up very well to it and played some good stuff in spells, just lacked a cutting edge. Couple of really good stops from there keeper from the Eisa, Conteh and Rodgers strikes. Think Clifton looked a bit out of place and think at home he should probably be the one to be sacrificed for Pyke to play up with Rose. Eastwood had a couple shaky moments with his kicking but he was hitting the right areas with his kicking 99% of the time and good double stop for the penalty. Conteh and Rodgers look like they'll be fan favourites.

Very even game, looked like probably being a 0-0 but if someone scored that'd almost certainly nick it, nobody did.

We look solid defensively but not sure about the forward line we never really seemed to have people close enough to rose which seems the same old story with 1 up front.

Still could have been a lot worse.

Pretty sure I got shot down by you in pre-season for saying that Rose in a three alongside two wide players like Vernam and Eisa didn't sound like it would work that well and even though it's early days I didn't really see much evidence to dissuade me. Still think Rose will be better in a two.

Fairly solid start, decent tempo to the match but no real quality. Great for Eastwood's confidence to save a penalty. All the new signings did well I thought, particularly Conteh and Rodgers. Few moments when we looked a bit shaky at the back but overall defence was good.

I thought we looked well drilled for a side with a decent amount of debutants, the players were definitely working hard and up for it which you'd expect from a Hurst team but still a positive to take.

0-0 was probably a fair result overall, I'd say.
