The booking system layout is incorrect for the osmond I booked seats f14-17 for today's game all next to the steps on the left. When I arrived seat 17 was on the other side by itself.

All the talk on here, the atmosphere was meek just like what Hurstball served up. Nice to get a clean sheet though

Was at the back corner of Findus at Pontoon end. Plenty of chanting from Findus and Ponny but it seemed like it just drifted away on the breeze, I don't know how loud it sounded elsewhere.

Hurstball was pretty good tbf - definitely a lot more football played ; I would prefer that tbh than the traditional 'Hurstball' . We were pretty fluid at times and it was on the floor , the only similiarity was the lack of cutting edge - if we came 11th again but played more like this than last year at home with a clear playing strategy that only needs to be tweaked with a player or two I would be relatively happy (I know some would not be ) . We have at least 5 'assets' now who clubs would pay good money for , I don't think we have said that for a long time and I think recruitment and player sales will go from strength to strength .

The atmosphere at Blundell Park has been dire for years now and tbh does not massively change unless it's an exceptionally tense match or if we are winning by 4+ goals, then people seem to wake up. As has been said many times, part of the problem is the pockets of the ground that do create atmosphere, the sound doesn't carry. Reason no. 2034 why we need a new stadium, or at the very least in the short term to close in some sides (Ponny), preferably by extending the stand and joining it to some new seats in the corner. The difference between our home and away atmosphere is stark. I know away atmospheres are always loads better at every club, but ours is a particularly vast difference imo.

I think when we get the majority of the osmond for those home games with the small away crowds it could be an opportunity to get the vocal supporters together, offer ST holders a chance to move there if they want to try and create an atmosphere, get the drum in there etc. Sound travels better out the osmond and it might allow the whole ground to get together for chants if they can hear the songs starting from there. Anyone else think it could possibly work? I've no idea if it's possible to implement or not but I do feel we need to do something to get the incredible boys who make a noise at away games together at Blundell Park and make it an intimidating place for away teams to come to. I like that idea but can't see Humberside Police agreeing. They probably like it just as it is, fairly dull. Not sure if they'd even have a say in the matter but I'd imagine if they did then 'intimidating' is something they'd wish to avoid.

I can't imagine the police have a say in whereabouts individuals, who are entitled to be in the ground if they've paid, can sit (assuming those seats are available for purchase of course). It isn't school and they aren't teachers.

I just think there are lots of supporters like myself who join in on a chant but in some areas of the ground you have no one else singing with you, in fact where I had a season ticket last year the 'supporters' around me looked at you like you'd shat in thier flask if you were too vocal.

I don't think it is the logistics. Had we gone ahead, had shots galore, were really on the front foot then all the stands join in. All the best atmospheres I have witnessed over the years involved the team doing very well, or were winning or a lot depended on the result. Alternatively if we have backs to the wall the atmosphere is usually good. Last year Luton at home nobody cared about the logistics. If the ground is redeveloped we would of course close the gaps, but we need the team to get on the front foot wherever possible.

Unfortunately the idea of anything associated with Grimsby Town as being intimidating would be totally against what the new board are trying to create. They want a family day out, big spends at the food stalls then sitting and watching ‘the spectacle’ akin to going to the cinema. You reap what you sow.
The FA are doing their best to stamp out any kind of old school Chanting , banter between rival fans and this club are lapping it up.
Never realised just how many adverts were in the ground and media encouraging you to grass someone up

Wasn't there a "public information" type broadcast over the PA system on a loop prior to kick off? For those that could hear it anyway. It really is becoming tedious.

I like how the intent of creating a hot atmosphere and intimidating in the sense of a crowd getting well behind their team has escalated to a Galatasaray style inferno of hate and slit-throat gestures.
At no point have the club ever suggested they don't want an atmosphere, especially one that's a cauldron of noise and support for the team.
