I believe I’ve seen the formal number of spectators was given as 2000. Presumably Clee didn’t actually count ‘em in.

I'm sure 2,000 were sold but based on those that attend some may not have turned, so to be fair to all I like the actual number. I did check both Mariners and Cleethorpes web sites but the number is not mentioned. As for the GT/GL they didn't report the game!
