Notts nor Harrogate stopped over the previous night because of COVID restrictions,I can't believe that they would risk going down on the day when Notts, Chesterfield and Forest are all heading in the same direction at the same time

Harrogate stayed over the night before the match at Hilton Wembley.

Notts stayed over the night after the match in central London and had a party (wake) with their families.

My source is incredibly reliable. He drove the Notts team bus to and from the match. He had to have covid tests the week before the game and was paid to self isolate at home.

The Final was on 2nd August 2020 and the day before eat out to help out started so restrictions had been loosened significantly by then.

Notts have sold 20,000 tickets so far; thought they might have shifted a few more given that it’s their first fan attended game at the new Wembley, their last trip their (with fans) being 1991.

Not sure how many Chesterfield have shifted but it looks as though our record, shared with Bristol Rovers, for the highest ever on-league attendance of 47,029 looks safe for now. I’m slightly surprised by that.

Notts have played at Wembley twice with fans since 1991.

10 points to anybody who can say when. (Chalky is disqualified)

Seems I'd forgotten the 1995 Anglo-Italian Cup final against Ascoli, along with just about everyone else who isn't a Notts County fan over the age of 35.

You might have to help me out with the other one...

Turns out they were in the 1994 Anglo-Italian Cup final too, so that's 3 times at Wembley, with fans, since 1991. I take much solace in the fact that although I was wrong, so was the usually stupendously accurate Golly.

Ooh yeah, IIRC Gheorghe Hagi played in that one didn't he? (For Brescia, not Notts).

Turns out he did, with Gary Lund lining-up for County. What a bizarre and oddly fascinating competition the Anglo-Italian Cup was…

They also lost the Anglo-Italian Cup Final at Wembley the year before (1994) to Brescia.
