I cannot see us getting anything at Donny.
51 points should see us safe three more draws.
Hurst needs a good start to next season and improve his boring turgid football or he’s toast.

It will be a case of the points the teams below us drop rather than the points we win for the rest of the season.

Rochdale have the potential to hit 50 points but play 3 sides in play off contention, 2 of those are away.

Hartlepool could get 56 points, play 3 play off contenders and a game at home to Crawley which could be pivotal.

Crawley could get the same points haul but as well as having to travel to Hartlepool they host Colchester, despite a long away trip to Barrow the remainder of the games they play are versus sides on the beach I think.

If Town lose tomorrow and tte 4 teams below them win we’ll be 19th.

We haven't for over 30 years...

Not many wins there in my 53 years of watching Town - two maybe? We lost there in the McMenemy championship season. I think we won twice at Belle Vue, but lost last time there in the League Cup.

Realistically we're safe even if we lost every game. Rochdale are  only guranteed to over take us if they win every game which won't happen. So that leaves one relegation spot. There's 4 teams (Hartlepool, Harrogate, Colchester, Crawley) who have all averaged around 1 point per game this year. If they repeat that over the last 6/7 games none of them will overtake us. It would be incredible for all 4 of those teams to suddenly hit playoff form. The last 6 games suggests at least 1 won't (Colchester have only got 4 points). Its not surprising the bookies don't offer odds on us being relegated.

But what if they do?  Are we actually mathematically safe from relegation?

A win for town today and everyone is happy UTM

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Not safe untill we are over the line points wise.. Thw last game was a disaster for a home game , But most of the players have had two long seasons with only a short break and short preseason and are looking tired and that affects everything body wise including awareness.. So what does Hurst do . bring them in for an extra days training  , Well done take their last strength . Try looking in the mirror Mr hurst before you take it out on the players . Send an under strength team out that are nearly on their uppers and blame them , Yer right

So what is he supposed to do?

They were in on Saturday but doubt it was a fitness session. We’re having trouble defending the only way that can be fixed is on the training ground.

Yes the players didn’t get much of a break but he’s pretty much had a full squad to choose from recently and everyone has had some form of rest other than the keeper .

2 days between games on a Friday and Monday is no different to Saturdays and Tuesdays. They were going to be in one of those days, and given the abject display on Good Friday the sooner the better.

To get relegated it’d mean 4 teams produced their best form all season for 6 games and we didn’t pick up a single point.

Of course we’re safe

As Hartlepool have to play Crawley, I believe we are mathematically safe on the basis of goal difference.

Get your point, but we haven't been in any danger for weeks.

The teams below us were never going to catch us once we got to mid 40's points.

Would like to see Hartlepool survive and Crawley go back to where they belong.

Mathematically we need two points. Crawley have 38 pts and get a maximum of 53 if they win ll thier games and we lose all ours.

No.

If Crawley win all their games they finish on 53 points, and Hartlepool would then have a maximum 51 points. It would require a 15 goal turnaround for them to overtake us.

Not gonna happen. We are safe.

No we don't. For Crawley to get 53 points they have to beat Hartlepool, which in turn means they can only get 51 points.

We thus need only one point to be mathematically certain of staying up.

But in reality we are safe.

It would need 2 or 3 clubs to have a really good finish to their season and us to lose all six games.

Now I am not a betting man but I would put a tenner on us staying up.

We’ve been safe all year, when you look at the clubs near the bottom, there’s a reason they’ve been down there, we should know, it’s been us before.

Had it not been for our cup run, our season would’ve ended in February…
