Before we get into the tables, I did a bit of totting up of our total mileage/attendances after what was an incredibly hectic March for us:

Wed 1st March - Southampton (a) - 480 miles - approx 4200 Town fans
Sat 4th March - Carlisle (a) - 374 miles - 428 Town fans
Tue 14th March - Sutton (a) - 440 miles - 273 Town fans
Sun 19th March - Brighton (a) - 516 miles - approx 4600 Town fans
Wed 22nd March - Mansfield (a) - 144 miles - 1102 Town fans
Tue 28th March - Crawley (a) - 476 miles - 329 Town fans

Total: 2430 miles, approx 10,932 Town fans.
Mileage is based on roundtrips going off the most direct driving route on Google Maps from BP to the relevant grounds.

-------------------------

I didn't compile the tables below, they were done by a Mansfield fan on TFF, so quotes are directly from him. Our average is down a bit since last time but hardly surprising given the cup run. It'll be creeping back up following our next two away matches though as they'll both be 2000+.

Here is my latest average away attendances. I am not claiming they are totally accurate as I don't think anybody's list is but it is a good attempt.

However everyone knows clubs take higher numbers on afternoon games as against evening games as well as games which are close to the away side ( ie Derby matches).

I also thought that a mean average is not the correct way to do these but a better way is the median average. This reduces the effect of sell outs at derby games with small away capacities.

So I have done a proper willy waving table based on median average, distance travelled and if afternoon or night game.

So based on a travel distance of 150 miles on an afternoon or a night game distance of 100 miles here is the list.

I don't think there are any surprises.

1004   Carlisle United
890     Bradford City
753     Grimsby Town
675     Swindon Town
639     Stockport County
580     Mansfield Town
554     Leyton Orient
478     Doncaster Rovers
470     Gillingham
461     Northampton Town
450     Tranmere Rovers
402     Walsall
397     Hartlepool United
381     AFC Wimbledon
342     Barrow
283     Colchester United
249     Newport County
229     Crewe Alexandra
228     Rochdale
199     Stevenage
196     Crawley Town
161     Sutton United
122     Salford City
91     Harrogate Town

-------------------------

And finally average away fans at home grounds...

Not a very popular trip are we but reflects accesibility. It’s a fair amount of cash difference though - Donny’s receipts from away fans will pay the wages of a couple of decent league 2 players

Yeah, I'm surprised we're exactly the same as Hartlepool considering they only accommodate about half the amount of away fans that we do. Donny obviously reaping the rewards of a massive away end for that level. Their number there beefed up by 4000 Bradford fans and I think Mansfield took 2500+ iirc.

Carlisle have a train line that goes direct to London , it takes them about the same time as us , sometimes even less to get a train to London .
We’re the bottom tip of transport routes as well as everything else
