Sheikh Mansour bought City for £210m. A month or so ago Kieran Maguire posted on twitter that Man City's total losses in the PL era totaled £714m. Even if you credit all those losses to his era as City owner that's a combined outlay of £924m. City have been valued at around £4bn. That's pretty good business from where I'm sat.

*I appreciate City have used the other clubs in the City Football Group & friendly commercial deals to massage the figures, but if he sold City today he's make a profit.

It looks like football is no longer about the beautiful game. It's more about the beautiful Dirham, Pound, Dollar or whatever currency looks good on a bank account.

Abramovich splurged massive amounts to get Chelsea up to the top of the tree as well. The Yank who has taken over seems to be trying to outspend him.

No crowds are basically irrelevant now
Salford City get what 2-3k and I just read an article ,they lost 91k a week in 2022 (nearly 5 million quid through  the year )

People say these are 'small' clubs but in truth the Salfords , FGR's and Fleetwoods are now bigger clubs (in the sense of wages they can pay ) than the likes of us , Bradford , Tranmere  and Swindon who you would say are more traditional clubs with bigger fan bases .

Understand that argument but in the long term (possibly long long term) the best supported teams will prevail. Owners will come and go but the fan base will remain. How many rich owners have grown the fan base enough for sustained growth? Brighton maybe but not Salford or Fleetwood and certainly not Franchise FC

I think a question that could be asked is -how many of the traditional clubs will be left by the time that happens especially lower down :
York -in a mess
Skunts-well covered on here
Oxford -4 mil loss and 20 mil in debt
Notts C -14mil in debt
Morecambe -struggling to pay wages
Most of the debts of the smaller clubs are un servicable

There must be more in a dangerous position to .
At least its not us
