Think that was a game that highlighted what we all already knew: we need someone capable of consistently sticking it in the net.

Enjoyed the game though and again showed that we can mix it with the better sides. First half they struggled to cope with us, second we were under pressure but defended really well. Plenty of potential in this team.

Agree, a Poacher who can stick away those chances 6 yards out.

Well the lack of any width/pace evident again for me, along with an inability to pass/keep the ball, but barring that good performance - tailed off 2nd half but probably expected.

Crocombe distribution very poor (again), needs addressing. Smith was very good, Emmanuel good first half - poor second, Last me should’ve scored and had another ‘moment’ late on but been outstanding all season, I like Maher..battler, throw ins useful but never work..not enough pace on them and looped rather than flat..easier to defend, Glennon played well again, think Holohan needs a rest, Morris can’t pass, makes errors but battled well tbf (need better though imho), McAtee better last night, Lloyd battled but little joy from their decent centre back, Taylor won everything 1st half..tired second. Forward line not helped by feeding on scraps..hence the earlier width/pace remark.

Saturday I’d maybe change Clifton, Green for Holohan,Morris.

When we watched i follow with the awful away commentators during covid I really appreciated how good JT was. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Town are second to none, but he seems to have drifted off course lately.

Last night he alluded to how well Lloyd was doing holding the ball up etc. only for it to be McAtee. Thankfully I was watching the game on TV but if I had been listening on the radio then what difference would I have known? I believe Croft did correct him, but the match had moved on. This is regrettably one of many mistakes he has made this year.

So respectably I think it's time for JT to hang up his microphone at the end of the season and retire gracefully with his integrity intact.

It's interesting you called out lack of width, I can't get my head around it when you look at the formation and that we have the likes of Emanuel, Amos, Effete and Glennon who can get forward, maybe it's down to the poorness of our passing and ability to hold the ball in mid field so that player can make runs, I'm no tactician but it feels like there is a disconnect.

Passing was good first half. Thought Gav faded badly and it was inevitable that Ryan would.

Alot of pitch watering by Mansfield - think they did that last time I was there. Perhaps makes it a bit stamina-sapping - especially for the older ones?
