I think it would be unfair not to give at least a little mention to Holohan who perhaps not as consistent as Clifton has had some very impressive spells throughout the season too.

He's really, really come on in the last couple of seasons. Always had that incredible engine and athleticism but he's added goal threat to his game. He's also got a perfect attitude. We maybe didn't realise it early in his career but we're incredibly fortunate to have him as one of our own.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD

Him and McAtee on their day are a class above most players in this league. Overall I would say Harry though. Incredible energy and consistency. As mentioned his output has massively improved in the last 12 months. I think there will be some decent offers coming in the summer.

That’s not to dismiss the contributions of Crocombe and Waterfall, both of whom have been generally brilliant, but Harry Clifton has just been the epitome of professionalism and consistency. He sets the tempo, he leads in terms of work ethic, and he’s really started to add goals to his game. 8 goals so far in a team that has, at times, struggled in front of goal. Easy to forget he’s still only 24. He will go on to play at a higher level, no doubt whatsoever. And I’d love nothing more than that to be with us. He reminded me of Paul Groves last night; I think that’s the biggest complement I can give him. A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.
