I was on standby for Op Bridges for two and a half years of my service career and practised elements of it monthly for that time. I want to see it happen for real - and I hope those delegated the responsibility carry it out do so immaculately even if only so their efforts aren’t wasted. However I do think it is antiquated and outrageous that this sort of stuff still goes on in the 21st century.

All of this could of course be done for an elected head of state.
