The stand behind looks loads like the Osmond stand. The fella standing on the left looks suspiciously like a fish merchant too.

I’m dreadful at deciphering handwriting. Mainly because mine is so appalling.

Looks like this is an incredible find.

It would look nice in the Trust Bar if it's authenticated.

It is. If you look over the keeper's shoulder you can see a gap in the roof line of the terraced houses on Neville Street. This gap is clear as you go on Street view down to No. 41.

My thoughts too. Will go nicely with the 30's shirt they purchased recently,

Wonder if they are aware?

It would but they are not in any way connected, Shankly was manager 51-54.

They are connected in that both are fine pieces of GTFC history.

What a team, In his book Shanks said pound for
pound this was the best team he ever managed.
When I wasn't playing for my school team I watched
every home match.

The photo isn't too clear but the front row is Stan Lloyd,
Jimmy Bloomer, Billy Cairns, Jimmy Hernon and
Jimmy Maddison.

Next to Tom Dawson trainer is Duncan Mcmillan and
Paddy Johnston is next to Shankly.

Others on there will be Wally Galbraith, Bill Brown,
Reg Scotson and, of course, George Tweedy.

Perhaps someone with better eyesight than me
can match up their autographs.

Yes I messaged her and she acknowledged that she had got it wrong, but there had already been bids on it so unless she cancelled it, she is unable to alter any details.

Doesnt matter by the looks of it. Bids up to £205 already

Depends on whether they are buying it for the team photo or for Shanks autograph.

If it's Workington fans buying it for the team photo, then they need to take a damn good look at themselves.........quite literally!

£255 now

Yes I did and he replied that because it had been listed and someone had bid on it the description cannot be altered which I can understand.

The last bid was £461.71 by E**C (280). Would be nice if this is a Town fan and not an autograph collector.

I think I won the item. It wasn’t for the amount mentioned here though. It was relisted yesterday as a buy-it-now and I pounced. Rest assured that I am a Town fan and it will be cherished!

Sounds like the winning bidder pulled out and the seller didn't offer it to 2nd highest bidder then. Hence it being relisted, and relisted as Grimsby too

Great that a Town fan now owns such a rare copy. Do you also own the image rights and, if so, would you do a deal with the Club so that a copy can be displayed for all to see?

I have no idea about the ethics of football memorabilia and would not wish your new asset to be devalued. Well played sir.

I suppose I do!? It’s a good idea and I would happily supply the club with a high-res scan of the image should they wish to display it in house.

A generous offer. If the Club are interested they now have the resources to properly celebrate our connection to Shankly and that famous team. Unless they already have their own copy and forgot to tell anyone!

I grew up in Immingham, and at that time there was a branch of the Grimsby Town supporters club, run by Andy Keenan, relation Aussie Mariner'?
A dance was organised at the Tin Mish, where the management and players were invited to attend.
Bill Shankly not only came, but brought all 33 of his professional players.
In those days Town had a team in the football league, one in the Midland League and one in the Lincolnshire league.
Consequently any injuries were replaced by the same position of the team below.
The point of this post, is to say that I watched Bill Shankly sign the drummer's ( Thompson? ) snare drum skin.
What would that be worth?
