Wright injured again?

Can't see Max getting offered a new contract in the summer unfortunately.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

This a massive game tonight and a win in style would make a big statement. Alternatively we need to grind it out and get three point by any means possible. Kings Lynn do tend to score away from home so it's unlikely to be a walkover

You just know he’ll be released, get a Leagie 2 club, and play 46 games next season.

Can't make tonight as I have a meeting to attend to, so I've leant my season ticket to my Dad. Hopefully we play some attractive football, get a good win, and convince an old-timer to come more often, sorry if you're reading this Dad

Yeah until recently I was bothered about performances but I feel like it’s more just about results now. Got to win tonight and against Aldershot.

Hoping to see a bit of Burgess and Scannell tonight.

If the angry driver from down Harrington St is reading this - don’t give yourself a hernia mate! I can’t see through parked cars. Sorry x

I would even if on reduced terms I'm sure he's not on that much.  And knowing our luck if Max left and got tied up he'd have a stelling season.

I think it's just a mix up and the game is still on.

Very much after the Lord Mayor's Show tonight. They are playing us well, packing midfield and defence and we're too slow passing it through midfield to get anywhere. We could easily have conceded as well after they got in behind but fluffed the effort. Best chance for us was Clifton who had a shot well-saved but I thought he went for the wrong side of the goal.

It's not just a problem of passing it slowly through midfield, it's the fact that we're not mixing up the style of play. I think we've put the ball over the top perhaps once or twice and we're not getting anywhere much trying to pass it through the 9 men in defence when we get the ball in midfield.

Coke almost a liability tonight. So slow on the ball, has lost possession a couple of times in risky areas and I think we'd be a lot better off if he wasn't on the pitch. Take him off, either bung Burgess in there or drop Clifton back into midfield and bring on Scannell or Abrahams. Perhaps a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2?

Most of our possession has been Pearson, Waterfall and Coke passing it around between each other until eventually Raikhy picks it up to find absolutely no movement ahead of him and nobody to pass to. He did put one ball over the top of their CB to Clifton, who took too many touches and allowed the keeper to set himself to make (an admittedly good) save. The keeper was initially miles out his goal and the lob was on, but unfortunately Clifton didn't quite have the vision or attacking instinct to notice. Absolutely nothing else to report because everything around their area has been incredibly static

Is it gonna be a sucker punch???

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I’m with you in that, if it finishes that way and we win Saturday that will be 10 from 12 and after such a poor run that’s good improvement.

Hmmm. Trying to be philosophical, and you could say, that if we’d won this one and got a draw at Notts county, that’d be pretty good, but I’m finding it hard not to be pretty angry at this point that we haven’t beaten this lot. Really, you’ve got to be turning these strugglers over at home if you’re gonna get in the mix. Few mins left anyway, so we’ll see…..

Not easy to breakdown 10 men behind the ball.

Typical, can't break down a team that parks the bus, shades of other seasons, how could we have so many corners and not really create anything, really diappointing after Saturday.

Was a real chance to build up momentum and put a few past a low quality team and give ourselves a confidence boost. Sadly we reverted back to our usual selves.

Most supporters would have settled for 4 points from the 2 games before 3pm on Saturday

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

To be fair we've been extremely effective at breaking down and beating weaker teams this season, especially at home. Our problem has been a dire record against the stronger teams particularly away. So typical town to follow up Saturday with tonight. Don't think we need to go too overboard tonight but less than 3 points on Saturday would make for a really disappointing week.

It's the same story going back years. The start to the season was a mirage. The truth is we have not been able to put a winning run together for years. Win one, lose several, win two, then draw against a team we should hammer at home. Until we get consistency we will remain in this league.

Started the second half brightly enough, had a couple of chances saved or blocked (looked like we should have had a penalty for handball as well) but the last 20 minutes or so we're just pathetically bad. Little movement and we lost the ability to string more than a couple of passes together. I think they probably had the better chances near the end simply by the ball deflecting to them in dangerous areas a couple of times when we misplaced passes time and again. The crossing tonight was just so, so bad.

To sum it up, the MotM was announced as Harry Clifton. He was OK but I wouldn't say he was any better than the rest of them. I'd say Waterfall probably did best for me but you don't really want a central defender to be your best player when you're up against a 9 man defence.

Really? Maidenhead, Wealdstone, Kidderminster, Aldershot? The fact is that Kings  Lynn have won 4 and lost 18 league games this season. And they’re still second from bottom. It looks as though we’re simply not up to it this year.

4 away games you've listed there though and even chucked in a cup game to top up the list. Kings Lynn are the first team currently below us in the table that we haven't beaten at home this season.

I said the same at the time.

Yeah seemed an odd decision. Not a natural goal scorer is Harry, although he has plenty of things to offer.

I thought this was a game were our lack of anyone with that instinctive goal scoring streak really showed.  On the chances we did get crossed into the box either nobody there or the player was behind multiple defenders.

Plus mcatee was really badly off it today

Bloody awful... so frustrating watching us around the box tonight... passing poor.... ok we shudda had a pen... hit the post & one cleared off the line. KL came to spoil and did exactly that..  time wasting , feigning injury ,all the usual fan baiting... oh... and the referee was ( again ) very poor... but we failed to rise above it all.
However  , before last Saturday I predicted 7 points out if 9 this week... so at least we're still on track for that...

It can't be the same v. Aldershot  !  Can it ??? I'll be there... UTM  !!!

I didn’t realise you were referring only to home games. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to include the cup game when our opponents were two leagues below us. I appreciate that you’re trying to offer a positive take on things, but my gut feeling has always been that we’re likely to come unstuck against weaker opposition. So much so that I took Bet365’s odds on the draw tonight.

Good work on the bet but look at our overall record this season against the top 10 excluding us and then the other 13. Our problem this season really isn't our record against the weaker teams.

OK. I take your point, but I do feel that we ought to have managed a win against tonight’s opposition. The result may have been against the grain as you point out, but we really shouldn’t write it off as a bad day at the office.
