Aye I don’t want to look too much into it but they’re very impressive figures for his age, no matter what the level was. When lads at 17/18 go to lower league clubs they very rarely score a lot of goals no matter who they are, by the looks of it he’s smashed it at both clubs.

A lot to like the look of and exactly the type of signing I was hoping for.

Towler was close to their first team, and look how good he is. Let’s hope Bell is of a similar standard.

Hurst does have a good record on recruitment.

I didn’t, but now I do, so thanks for that (great spot nonetheless).

Haven’t had chance to look much into this kid yet, but this bit from his description on the OS was encouraging:

Quoted Text
Bell made his debut for Bristol City in December 2020, making a late substitute appearance in the EFL Championship at home to Birmingham. To date, the young striker has made a total of seven appearances in all competitions for his parent club and has regularly been involved in the first team matchday squads.

On the outer fringes of a team currently playing 3 divisions above us. Incidentally of a very similar pedigree to Towler and Hunt in that respect, so if this kid is the striker equivalent of those two then this is a pretty exciting signing.

I can only imagine the amount of scrutiny that’s gone into this signing, and how many other alternatives will have been considered in the interim.

We’ve not really made a bad signing yet this campaign - I’m quietly confident this one won’t be either.

Seems highly thought of and had a couple of non league spells on loan where he did well. Hopefully he'll be the answer for us in searching for more strike power even if it could be only temporary until January when we have more chance of making a longer term signing.

Seems like an ideal signing, he'll know towler to help him settle in, he's been keen enough to go on loan at much lower levels just to get football and actually scored a fair few, but hes also made a few appearances for bristol city so will have also played infront of big crowds, great stuff

They can share Alice Bands as well. Will be good if one of them forgets one day.

Very excited for this signing even if he only stays for 8-10 games. Could be a massive difference between say 1 point per game and 2 (on average!!!)

Excited to listen to the radio tomorrow UTM

Even if he doesn’t score a shedload, he’ll at least provide a new option and some work rate (for lack of a better phrase) in the final third, which is what we’ve missed at times.

Looking forward to seeing him get some minutes.

Let's hope that he has a great loan spell at the club and pops a few in the net while here !!

We make chances - it's been coverting them into goals recently that has been the problem.

Always nice to hear of new signings. Such a young lad and I hope he does well.

Interesting to see that Hurst has brought in a very young and unexperienced striker, with practically no goals in senior football. Especially considering the lad is labelled as a "striker".

From this I would deduce that Hurst's contacts have given him some information that they feel this youngster has a lot of good potential about him, and that they feel his talents might be just ready to pop nicely at our sort of level at this time. Maybe they feel the timing is just about right for him.

Strikers are hard commodities to come by. Lets keep our fingers crossed, because it isn't just making up the numbers type of players that are needed right now. We need goals and we need a finisher.

Looks like Hurst doesn't see Morgan as the answer to the problem, and he clearly doesn't rate any of the youth team players to give them the sort of chance that he is prepared to give this loanee.

Look forward to seeing him

Fortunately, the consummate medical professional that he is, Dave’s formulated a gentle massage designed specifically to deal with injuries such as this.

He offers up to twelve rounds of treatment, but so far all recipients have confirmed that one was enough. Remarkable success rate.

We've got a run of tough games coming up, I'm expecting him to maybe play with Bell, Taylor and Macatee then use Sousa as an impact sub.
On the flip side he may use Bell as a substitute, but whatever Hurst does I'm now thinking Lennie has dropped down the order tbh.

The loan may mean that they expect Bell to play games as with Towler.

Putting Bell alongside Taylor tomorrow could help to save McAtee's legs if not yet 100%, with the cameo to follow if needed.

Quality crosses and deliveries up front definitely required.

Reminds me of my wife.

Why, do you punch her in the balls then?

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Quoted “Live” Martin Tyler style
From a Mad BC Fan re this new signing

“”I just saw he has gone to you,
What I know of him he set all kinds of goalscoring records at youth and under 23’s.
He has played a few games for the first team, al sub cameo appearances.
His dad played 4-500 pro games for us, so comes from
Good stock.

He has something in his locker, but needs games,  the championship is brutal to learn your trade, especially as a centre forward.
I hope he does well for you, he does stop running and he knows where the net is, so he should be ok.

This isn’t bad feedback is it 👍

Welcome Sam

Bering in mind he's pretty young, it would be foolish to expect too much.

Hopefully the homophobic camp analogists from the Notts County match give Bell a chance.

Might’ve briefly played with Luke Spokes at Yate Town a few years back too.

Bristol City must now know we look after their loan players  and Brian Tinnion let Paul Hurst know he was available for loan, so respect both ways !

A previous request finally comes good.

Let's hope he settles quickly and plays well for the benefit of all.parties !

I think this is a positive move. A player if that standard (hovering around the fringes of a Championship squad). Or I should say, another one.

It’s going to be a tough one for him. Probably going to get less protection from refs than he’s used to. If he can cope with that job’s a good’un.

Looks very, very young. Hopefully a baby faced assassin.

He has had a decent return of goals in the 2 loans he has had. 7 in 12 playing for Clevedon Town and 3 in 4 for Yate Town. I cant find anywhere the number of goals he has scored in the u18s and u23s.

Let’s hope he has a better time of it than other ‘baby faced assassins’ have had in recent days.
