RIP Pete. Another stalwart gone. Condolences to the family.... 😔

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

Is this the Pete who used to have crazy hair dos and go nuts in the pontoon?
If so I used to love watching him when I was younger. Proper fan who loved his club!

Either way Rip fellow mariner x

Sad loss of another character the likes of which we are unlikely to see again.
Like Friskney Mariner I sat near Pete for at least the last ten years in the Pontoon and travelled all over the country with him on Terry's buses to away games. A real gentleman with a wicked sense of humour and a huge knowledge of the game and team he loved.
Pete was the only person I know who attended the 66 World Cup final (Pretty sure he saw all of England's games).

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

No mate...thats the guy who used to work in Cottees but has now ditched Town in favour of Clee Town I think.

I know a Town fan who was paid to be there for the final. He was Old Bill. 😁

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
