Tommy?

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

So even though it was unofficially 'confirmed' last week, do the club think we are going to get excited by his signing now?

Bit of a damp squib really

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Interesting that Holloway doesn't mention Williams in his summary of the current midfield options ?

Only Rose, Taylor, Clifton and then this lad.

He does. He just refers to him as 'George'

Why do we need him???
We need an experienced striker.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

"He's a very, very good player, he's a very creative passer of the ball", said Holloway. "He doesn't just create goals, he can score them too."

He has scored 2 goals in 4 years. Has he even looked at his playing record or just signed him because Brian Tinnion offered him?

He’s only made about 20 senior appearances. You do realise players that age do play football at youth and development level don’t you.....

Bristol turned his 2 year contract into a 4 year one, so they must think he's worth it. Hope he's another Benson, who had started to look really good until the sh1t hit the fan.

I'm well aware that he has played at youth level, and he could have scored a goal a game, BUT he has still only scored 2 goals in the last 4 years as a professional.

Morton, himself, is quoted as saying “I know I should add goals to my game.... "

absolutely no idea what planet bingo bob is on at the moment...hope he is magnificent, but just seems a bit unnecessary as priority is a striker.....which he clearly is not able to attract.

Perhaps the strikers he wants would prefer to be paid in actual cash?

In all seriousness, people can talk about the pros and cons of the so called Covid contracts, and the openness about using them but it’s very obvious it has hindered our summer shopping...

We could pay the ultimate price which some seem happy to do...

If we can patch up Hanson and play to his strengths rather than asking him to chase lost causes then he will last longer before he breaks again. He just needs more crosses and ball to feet to link  with Edwards , Wright , Green, Scannel, Tilley, Jackson, Gibson, Sisay, Preston  etc, etc.
Morton has the vision and passing ability to find these runners while Hanson occupies the usual lumpen central defenders. I'm not sure we should go beyond our current squad unless it's a loan to replace Hanson.

The covid-clause hasn't impacted our summer business in the same way the benign loans haven't impacted the sale of our club.

Unless we loan someone like Joe Willock from Arsenal of course
