Splashing the cash. again. Their owners must have never ending pockets. Signed Bristol Rovers Captain, Stech who was Lutons Team of the Year GK in their promotion year, Jake Reid from torquay 31 and 18 goals in the last 2 seasons and Some other journeyman striker

And yet they’ll likely still be as bang average as everyone else.

I’m not sure that level of signing means they’ve been splashing the cash to be honest.

In a season ruined by corona, signing a goalkeeper who must be on a decent wage, and a 18-goal scoring striker must be some sign of splashing the cash.

In a normal season it would be a team with money-bags but this time round shows even deeper pockets.

Spending above their means hasn't got them far yet has it? They've been splashing the cash for a couple of seasons now but they are still playing us next season.

The problem with Mansfield, is they sign good players on paper, but those players, don't play as a team.  It's no good throwing good money on players wages, if they do not preform as a team.
I would prefer a team of 11 players with less ability, but play as a team, than 11 individual players
Mansfield taking a gamble, trying to get the best players on paper, stats etc before other teams start their recruitment and rebuilding of squads.
No mention when League 2 might restart

It can work both ways , There will be a lot of players of good standard worried that they may not get a job playing football , and will be willing  to take a lot less wages rather than get up at 6am to work in a factory for nat min wage. The days of over the top wages in football in the lower divisions are gone for now . We could even end up with players that want to play the game  for the right reasons n ot just for the big pay packet

Yes, whilst playing budgets at every club will be much lower than the previous season's wage demands of players will also be severely reduced so it evens itself out I think.

It will be interesting to see how, if there is some sort of salary cap introduced, Mansfield cope. Their crowds do not justify their spending.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.
